i think that he considers it genuinely surprising.
he’d be all weird about it at first though. leaning away whenever you reached out to brush his curls from his forehead, or maybe breaking the kiss the moment it starts feeling a little too real. he’s a walking hazard—one soft brush of your hand against his cheekbone and he’s snapping at you. mumbling something about stop being so sappy.
