A Little Mishap
Laminae had been working on a Halloween costume, looking to wow her courtier Dusk the Nocturne with something that he might like, even if it wasn’t something he may not wear because Laminae wasn’t going to get in the way of Dusk and Dawn dressing together for Halloween.
She was riffling through things when a bitty peddler wandered into the shop.
Saiyuri was leading the little bitties in a play hunt and Natsumi was taking care of the baby bitties and while the others could possibly handle it she was genuinely curious as to what the bitty peddler was selling, greeting the traveler whom set down their wares to the ground, opening it to show clothes, masks and even potions, Laminae eyeing those warily.
The bitty pulled back their hood was a Swapfell Muffet as she cackled, “ Ehehehehehe, looking for a costume deary?"
” A Halloween costume, perhaps you can help me decide on-“
The Muffet laid a finger on her lips as other hands grabbed a bottle that was glowing green, ” I think I know just what you want deary.“
However before Laminae could say anything else the mischievous little Muffet threw the glass down with as much force as she could muster, encasing Laminae in a haze as she screamed, the Muffet fleeing the scene so as not to face repercussions as Saiyuri and others arrived on the scene as the cloud cleared away.
” Wh-What happened to me?“
Laminae the Mumcher has become a Lamia.

((Hope you don’t mind a little bit from Dusk <3 ))
Saiyuri had been enjoying the play hunt with the other bitties, Dusk chatting with Dawn about possible costumes when the peddler came into the shop. Torque had glanced up, but noting the lack of attempted attack, settled back to watch with Boisenberry as the lamia and even some of the more energetic bitties from Shy had taken up the chase. Layl and Fajar were settled on her head, the pair held ‘captive’ for the little ones to set free since Laminae had been busy working on a costume.
Dawn still gently teased his brother over the fact that he’d not only gotten a crush, but seemed to genuinely be happy that his brother was happy. They’d been with the kitsune sisters for over 400 years now, and never once considered really pursuing relationships, more than content to relax and help the sisters with anything they may need. Dusk would glance up occasionally when there was a small lull in conversation, giving a happy hiss at the sight of Laminae still being part of the festivities while she worked. He was personally grateful that she’d come to enjoy life with Sai, himself, and the others, not wanting to think of how things could’ve been different if she’d decided she didn’t like the shop or the bitties within.
Her scream had him rear up in surprise and concern, Saiyuri’s paws stumbling as her trotting around was brought to an abrupt halt. Bitties swarmed her legs and Layl wrapped a tentacle around his brother before teleporting to the edge of the green haze, Dusk quick to slither up beside them, hesitant to reach out. Sai’s strides brought herself and the other lamia, the Ascella that had taken to thinking of Laminae much like a mother included, to the edge of the cloud as it dissipated, Dusk’s voice concerned as he called out.
“Laminae..? Are you-”
The sight of the now lamia Mumcher brought his words to a halt, violet eyes blinking rapidly to make sure he wasn’t seeing wrong. He would be the first to approach, taking in the scales and pattern, not counting the design on her hood. Moving to properly face her, his hands would be gentle as he took her paw like hands in his.
His main concern was making sure she was alright, but after confirming she was just in shock, he would lean his head close to nuzzle her, a loving sound coming from him as he worked to comfort her shock. He thought she was stunning, both normally, and as a lamia, and as he soothed her, he was more than happy to tell her so.
