Just read your Swim Team AU story... totally reminds of "The 13th Year" (was that your inspiration?) :D!

surprisingly no! Most of my ideas and inspirations are entirely random which makes things complicated for motivation is spent mostly used trying to figure out everything OTL

Love your 13th Year AU idea!! If Archie is Cody and Maxie is Jess; who's gonna be the evil fisherman? Maybe Shelly could be Sam?

Shelly would most likely be sam (considering her less than happy response to finding out your boyfriend is turning into a merman would be very true for a scientist like Shelly). As for the evil fisherman…hm…well, to be fair the guy wasn’t evil per say; he just wanted people to stop calling him crazy for something that DID exist and it drove him mad. Maybe…the president of Dev corp? Mr. Stone, Steven’s dad? The business could be a front for making a tracker to locate the mer-people under the guise of ‘looking for new types of pokemon hidden in the deep.’

Ever heard of "The 13th Year"? It's this old Disney Channel movie, about the unlikely friendship between a nerdy kid and a swim team star obsessed with being in the water... I swear to god, that movie has Hardenshipping written all over it XD. (might be a good idea for an AU!)

SERIOUSLY. Ik they couldn’t make it anything but straight (because Disney is notorious for throwing a fit over ANYTHING more than same sex ‘friendship’). It was SO OBVIOUS there was some romantic tension (as well as platonic) and imagining an highschool AND a mermaid au? BEST OF BOTH WORLDS :D

What if in android AU maxie is completely indifferent about sex like just "sex?...eh" but dose mainly because Archie enjoys it a bit and Maxie's programing loves to see Archie happy in a pleasure since, if that doesn't sound to weird??

No no it doesn’t sound weird at all!

I can see that too with him putting his reason for being made on the back burner Maxie being very uninterested despite his expertise.

When he starts liking Archie in a more romantic sense his programming instantly starts to kick in and he starts doing things to make the pirate as happy as possible.

‘Oh Archie smiles more when I visit and it’s not for work purposes? I guess I can make the extra trips to Lilycove on the weekends.’

‘His favorite food takes a long time to make so he doesn’t get to have it often? Sleeping isn’t a thing for me so I cooked him a large tray of it. At least I was productive instead of just surfing the internet until 7 am.’

He’d be up for anything if it meant seeing Archie happy; hand holding in public, last minute dates, the Aqua leader buying him a bed even though he doesn’t need to sleep so he can spend the night in Maxie’s base and they can snuggle together.

Ahhhh Maxie probably likes to watch Archie sleep all latched onto him and grinning like a dork

Omg very interested in the android AU! But question, how self aware is maxie to other robots like he has his own personality, reactions to emotions and all that? Im just very intreged in this idea and would love to know more❤❤❤❤

With androids straight off the belt; they are clean slates. Babies in a manner of speaking. No personality, no emotions other than the basic thing they’ve been programmed to want (a master/lover, and a purpose), and easily impressionable because of their craving for knowledge.

The first ‘emotion’ Maxie experienced, or rather, observed was ‘selfishness.’ One of the scientists at the plant would work day in and day out, effectively ignoring their friends and potential spouses so they could perfect the models and the starting AI at an attempt to make them near flawlessly human.

Which plays a large part in his goals being swapped from ‘Find a master’ to ‘find a purpose’ instead of the former being the most important and the latter just being mingled in with the first.

The pleasure bots are a ‘learn as they go’ type that process how to do things quickly and effectively to maximize their other’s happiness. Cooking, cleaning and sex are pre-built into every AI to save consumer time and help the bots achieve their goal in minimal time.

All the robots are self aware, but the intensity of that varies AI to AI despite being exact virtual clones. Maxie is rather sensitive to other’s emotions (the pleasure bot AI tripling that) that led to a self reflection on how others see him. Thus making him appear near human with reactions and empathy even though his older model wasn’t meant to deal with such complexities so soon.

So…like things regarding knowing he’s not human but not entirely just a machine was a big step in his ‘life.’ He accepted it but doesn't ignore it; when he walks into Tabitha or Shelly’s workplace and there’s robot parts or blue prints with broken pieces everywhere he tends to feel a tad uneasy. (like walking into a friend’s house full of human organs and parts just everywhere with a manual on how to build a version of your kind in hand…? Not a fun time.)

Put him in a room full of his kind though? He’d lose his mind with how many are just spouses to humans who wade hand and foot on their ‘masters’ and have little interest in anything else. A few would be interesting to talk to but over all Maxie is stuck in being too human for the bots but not enough to destroy reality’s barrier.

He’s special but not unique, another thing that irks him. Something he hasn’t quite accepted yet. [Let’s be fair though, not a lot of people would be fine saying ‘I’m just another human clone with a slightly different set of skills and personality but otherwise nothing amazing.’]

Don’t worry Maxie Archie will help you through your existence crisis

Android!Maxie's more sensual abilities are generally better than a human's because 1. he doesn't have to breathe and 2. he has superior anatomical knowledge (aka he will defs find your gspot in seconds). He's also kind of self conscious over the fact that he's a pleasure bot, because he's afraid people will diminish his achievements because of it

Ohhhh yeah. Especially when he can manage win over people or succeed in otherwise impossible odds because then people tend to assume he worked his magic instead of, you know, ACTUALLY WORKING HIS ASS OFF.

Being a pleasure bot also includes the emotional and material pleasures so he was built with his eventual Master’s complete happiness as the forefront of his desires. 

Most of his kind are maids/spouses to anyone who can afford them and their upkeep (they can eat but then you have to buy cleaning fluids to keep their insides clean and not to mention electricity alone to power them).

Considering he was the odd one who did what he himself wanted instead of filling the ‘I need a master/lover’ void I’d see Android!Maxie being almost shy to activate his main purpose. (Not to mention being a little unsure of himself because choosing what he would look like instead of consulting a master for how he SHOULD look is almost unheard of for pleasure bots).

Archie might be more off put about it all. Maybe curious and asking questions alongside Tabitha and Shelly (the robo experts) and thinking the master thing would be weird and claiming ‘YA DON’T NEED ANYONE CONTROLLIN YOU’

Android!Maxie being flattered at the concern but after the events in ORAS probably feeling a little lonely and without as much purpose so he wants to complete his reason for being made.

Archie flirting hardcore with the red head (as I assume many would be after that big reveal and his, ahem, abilities ) but wanting to show him that a relationship doesn’t have to be the “Master’s happiness is all that matters” mentality that he’s been programmed to believe.

Wacky adventures unfold. God this sounds fun to write but idk how it’d end or anythingggggg

Robot AU where Maxie was an android all along (and while waterproof does not like to take his chances). Archie and the others find out and freak out but more so Archie at the fact his model is specifically a pleasure bot.
