Random thoughts on rewatching Black Sails Season 1 (part 2):

If I had a nickel for everytime a pirate captain pushed someone off board who is supposed to be right in the audience's eyes, I would have 2 nickels... which isn't a lot, but it's weird that happened both in Black Sails and Our Flag Means Death

So... the priest was under the sun in the field as a penitence for having sex with Miranda? Is that correct?

When Hornigold says to Mr Scott: "I know your secret..." you can see Mr Scott's panic at the thought that someone could know about the community of free slaves he contributed to create, and speaking off...

I love that they immediately addresses the slavery theme in the first season not just through the plotline of the slaves being secretly on the Andromaca, but also through Scott and Eleanor's relationship

that scene with Dufresne... damn, one of the most violent of the series

Now that I know more about Anne's arc, I'm liking her more than at first watch (and I'm more pro Anne/Max)

It will always be funny that Anne was going to fight part of her crew to defend Max, but she renounces to confront her about the possibility of working behind Jack's back once she sees her naked (that scene screams 'Oh no, she's hot!' energy)

Max wanting to make Eleanor have a taste of her own medicine, but being sorry immediately after... *cries in Maxeleanor's shipper*

I totally forgot it was at the end of season 1 the 'they took everything from me and then they called me monster' scene... damn, that scene is so good, both of them have their reasons and knowing the full backstory... I'm not ready for that moment

the way Gates wanted to save Flint even if he lied to the crew multiple times by making him return to a normal life... no, darling, it won't be you the one who will succeed in doing that (RIP)

Silver wanting Flint's esteem has the same energy of a dog asking for attentions and cuddles

and no, I still don't like Vane as a character, sorry for all the Vane's stans (maybe I'll change my mind as the rewatch goes on, who knows)

season 3 maxanne makes me craaaazyyyy. from basically married cohabitation making future plans together "you're saying this ain't real" to amicable divorce "I trust you" to full on betrayal, not because they love each other any less but because they're both doing what they believe they have to to survive. also max terrified of Anne either dying or losing jack "not sure which is worse" and sleeping with an Eleanor lookalike to distract herself. they don't even know they don't even knowwww that there is nothing important that does not include you!!! they don't know that it feels like it's broken and it's going to hurt but they're going to be okay!!!!
