Norse Mythology: A redux for Amelie

Odin (Othinn):

Othinn is called the Allfather in Snorri Sturulson's writings, but this isn't really sourced any where else.  According to the Prose Edda he's a big shot, but Snorri was known to have a bias for him and has added a sort of god-modish quality.  In reality Thor and Freyr are the major gods.

ANYWAY Othinn hung himself on on Yggdrasil (Ygg's horse--Ygg being another name of Othinn) while being impaled on his spear.  He hung for nine days and nine nights (nine is the magic number in the Norse pantheon) to gain wisdom.  Othinn does a lot of other things to gain knowledge, including sacrificing his eye to the giant Mimir.

Njord (Njorthr):

Njorth is not an Áss ("a-oos") like Othinn, Thor, etc: he is one of the Vanir, who are speculated to be a fertility cult that was integrated into the Norse pagan tradition.

I've never heard that he was described in an incestuous relationship.  Nerthuz is an early and female form of Njorth from the Latin root rather than the Norse.  So Nerthuz could be his sister and the mother of Freyr and Freyja, or Njorth/Nerthuz could be a self-impregnanting fertility god.

Njorth has also been marked as being in a relationship with Skathi the giantess (who wanted to marry Baldr but chose the wrong pair of feet--that's another good story).  However Skathi, as a jotunn (giant) goddess of skiing and such, does not much like the ocean (Njorth lives at Noatun which is connected with the sea), and so spends most of the time in the realm of Thjazi.

ok shes obviously kind of power hungry. i mean she is the only one of the elven peeps to have one of the Three rings at all times she never passes it on to anyone else

um well she didnt think that the Eldar could defeat Morgoth so she didnt help them idk is that really doing something wrong though because i mean she was kind of right he was only defeated with the help of the Valar so ??

well my own headcanon is that she loves nenya more than she does celebrian and mayb celeborn so i dont like her for that BUT THATS NOT ACTUALLY CANON SO I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS AN OK ANSWER

ugh this is gonna sound rlly dumb but i went horse riding today and my horse is so young she's not really up to scratch with schooling but then i asked her to pick up canter and she did it absolutely perfect on the right leg and all and i wAS SO SHOCKED I JUST SAT THERE LIKE WHAT and she started galloping and almost jumped a 4ft fence with me still on top would not recommend
