A Series 2 Cuthbertson Tracked Land Rover. Cuthbertson was an early manufacturer of rubber tracks, dating back to World War II, and designed the first endless rubber belt. This led to many further developments based on applications for his invention, including half tracks, the unique "Water Buffalo" and the Land Rover conversions specifically for farmers forced to work in an uneven, hostile landscape. Hello, did you hear about Lauren Cuthbertson taking Oksana Skorik’s place in “Sylvia”? She partnered with Xander Parish in St. Petersburg. I think it’s wonderful that someone outside the Mariinsky was asked to dance the role of Sylvia. Yet alone that a foreigner was asked to fill in the spot :) i hope you have an amazing day and thank you for all the time and work you put into this blog!

I did and I’m very happy for her. I think Lauren is not only a wonderful ballerina but a beautiful person, inside and out. I like seeing good things happen to people who truly deserve them. Also, I believe that she and Xander made history by being the first British partners to lead a performance at the Mariinsky.

🪐1958 Cuthbertson Land Rover🪐 James A Cuthbertson Ltd, founded by James Archibald Cuthbertson in 1936, was an early manufacturer of rubber tracks. The engineer became known for his ability to swap out wheels of heavy-duty vehicles and replace them with tire tracks so they could be used for various other means, such as snow plowing. In 1958, Scotsman James A Cuthbertson presented this Land Rover-tracked vehicle. It had great benefits on swampy ground, but its height made it rather unstable. Ultimately, only 15 were built.
