Re: Ashes to Ashes, that shot wasn't a romantic dinner; the two characters had a love/hate, will they/won't they thing, but for reasons which became obvious toward the end it never happened. As an aside, A2A and its predecessor Life on Mars were bloody great TV shows and the start of the BBC and other channels really upping their game (imho) 👌🏻❤

Don't know if anyone else has flagged these up, but I noticed another couple of ACD refs: Work is the best antidote to sorrow, was originally said to Watson by Holmes in The Empty House, referencing Mary's (presumed) death. One of the text 'solutions' on screen refers to fresh paint covering the smell of something else which is from The Adventure of the Retired Colourman, where a man gasses his wife and her lover.

Ah, wow! I think finalproblem is doing a huge cull of references on her blog, but so great to add to them!

That's so beautiful! I've always wanted one but my city lacks variety so the kind of music I listen to isn't available here and buying them online is like 20x more expensive so i've never got around to buying a turntable. My mother had one but she doesn't know where it is (real story). I had a dj friend record for me the sound of the needle before the record starts playing a long time ago, i had it as my "windows" intro sound hahah. (the video i was listening to is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEtP4BxYQTQ and that 45 is actually so rare that there are records that it's sold for 9k pounds!)
