Kat had stayed to wokr after hours, not at all unusual for her, especially with her latest set of new assignments, things she needed to learn if she wanted to take the next step in her career. It wasn't uncommon to hear the boss singing at this hour, filling the near-empty lab with his beautiful song... tonight his voice was particularly entrancing though, and she found herself not only swaying to the lovely tune but following it to the room with the large aquarium...
”Carry me south, to the sea Along with your memories of me We were born in the water Now we'll return to Thee...”
Prior to sunset, Luciano had thought it would be reasonably safe to remain in his lab overnight; once his lab techhad left after their required hours he would be alone, and a danger to no one, as he occupied himself taking cell samples from the colourful assortment of nudibranches in their massive 80-gallon tank. However, he had neglected to check that all of them were actually leaving.
And so he was not expecting to hear footsteps behind him as he lilted to the sterile air, his thrall thrumming in the clean white walls. It was only when he caught sight of a reflection in the aquarium glass that he paused, and smiled slowly, a saccharine sigh passing his lips as he forgot entirely about work. He turned, languid, giving the tech a dreamy look.
How lovely it would be to return her to the water that had once been her home.
“Hello, pet,” he cooed. “Come to look at the little ones...? Come here, sweetheart...”
