         And it seemed like fate that Eridan would be one of the first people she sees after coming back; after a pretty upsetting meeting, when she first got here... Vriska heavily considered taking the chance to just totally disappear- become a new person, try to finally change; and yet here she was, letting herself get dragged back into her old group.

rummaging through the foliage of his island is all fun and games ... until he hears a ruffle in the leaves that’s just a bit too close for comfort. it’s enough to make jake freeze where he is, eyes glued in the direction which it came from. it’s either a lusus or brobot --- the former of which may kill him, while the latter may maim him. neither are particularly good outcomes. however, neither will be taking place, because he will wake up the second anything strikes. he just hasn’t had the epiphany that he’s down for the count and in the land of nod, in his words.

slow steps are taken towards the source of the ruckus, a pistol coming to one hand. after cocking it, he takes a stride forward and bites back his anxieties before leaping out, pointing the weapon at the source of the threat. 

“ ah-hah ! --- huh ? ” 

the dumbfounded sound that leaves him is due to the fact that neither white flesh nor grey metal stand before him. instead, it appears to be a mix of grey, black, and purple. a troll, one he’s never seen before. 

although the threat may not be entirely gone, he nonetheless gets rid of the pistol. it’s in his sylladex for safekeeping, along with about thirty-nine others, so it shouldn’t be too hard to retrieve again should it be needed. 

“ well, you’re a peculiar looking lusus, ” he comments dryly, head tilting ever so slightly to one side. “ pardon the botheration and queries, but who on earth are you and what are you doing camping-out on my abode ? ”

It started out as a held back snort.

Then a choke.

And then it came out into a full blown cackle. Hand resting over her chest as the other rested on her stomach, laughing herself silly over the Prince’s own flubbering of his own words -- it was inevitable with the silly accent her had.

But it was so bad. And he apparently knew it from the look in his eyes.

So much for any sort of serious conversation, she’ll be forever laughing over Eridan struggling to get those words out.
