Come to the 2nd Annual CSAH Charity Dog Show on Sunday, September 22nd to help support our furry friends!  There will be lots games, prizes, and other activities for your furry friends! Come join us and support a great cause! Javy, a very sweet 1-year-old domestic short hair cat, was unable to urinate due to urethral obstruction. His family took him to their regular veterinarian who tried to unblock him, but he failed to stay unblocked.  After several unsuccessful attempts of unblocking him, urgent surgical intervention was required. His family could not afford the surgery after paying the unexpected emergency bills. The AVMF was contacted for help. AVMF accepted Javy’s case, and with the assistance of the Foundation, Javy was saved. Todd, a very sweet 12-year-old domestic short hair cat,  was unable to urinate due to urethral obstruction. His family took him to Carol Stream Animal Hospital which initially unblocked him successfully but re-blocked again and his condition required urgent surgical intervention. His family could not afford the surgery, after paying the unexpected emergency bills. They called the CVMA Foundation for help. A CVMA member veterinarian accepted Todd’s case, and with the assistance of the Foundation, Todd was saved. Come to the 2nd Annual CSAH Charity Dog Show on Sunday, September 22nd to help support sweet dogs like Moreo! There will be lots games, prizes, and other activities for your furry friends! Come join us and support a great cause! Moreo arrived to the pet hospital feeling sick as a dog! His owner noticed he was drinking a great deal of water and was becoming increasingly lethargic. His regular CVMA veterinarian ran some tests and diagnosed Moreo not only with diabetes, but also with a severe complication called diabetic ketoacidosis, which is a life-threatening condition. Since his illness was so serious, Moreo required hospitalization and intensive care. His owner, a single mother struggling to make ends meets, could not afford his care. With the help of the CVMA Foundation, Moreo received the care he needed to save his life. Today, Moreo is thriving at home with his family, where he will continue to receive the loving and dedicated care he needs. "Thank you, CVMF, for helping me to pay Moreo's medical bills. Come join us and support a great cause! Choco, a lively 1-year-old Chihuahua, broke his leg in a car accident. His family took him to a local emergency center where he got his initial care, but his condition required urgent surgical intervention. His family could not afford the surgery, after paying the unexpected emergency bills. They called the CVMA Foundation for help. A CVMA member veterinarian accepted Choco as a patient. And, with the assistance of the Foundation, Choco was saved. Since his leg sustained non-repairable injuries, it had to be amputated.
