*That was the last chance Ada was giving to that club. It wasn't really a matter of drinks or people, of furniture or lightning. Everything was just like it always have been; and that was exactly the problem. Ordering the same drink every night, talking to the same people day after the other might have simply bored her, but now it was a tedious routine Ada was more than set on breaking. 

Still, could have it been right to say she was somehow attached to that place? It was still the first club she bumped into, when she arrived to that stupid town. And now, despite boredom being her nemesis, it felt almost ... unnatural deciding to go to another place, that night. That's why, the Jester decided to try one more time, and see if something actually happened. Her eyes were skimming the crowd, trying at least to notice some new face. Luck seemed to have abandoned her, 'till ... she spotted a blonde Ada was sure she never saw before. Hey, that was a start. 

With a faint smile, the woman moved to approach the other: pigtails, pink lipstick and a dangerously short dress. Eh, the kind of girl you'd expect to find in a club like that.*

LEAP

The night wind was cold and biting, whipping the gray hoodie and loose khaki cargo pants. Streetlights and old neon signs added to the light pollution blocking out thousands of the stars that would have gleamed overhead, and lit the planes of the dhampir's face from below. His eyes, usually hiding behind black shades, gleamed eerie amber as he gazed down the building to the empty alley below. A dumpster, some trashcans, a fire escape and brick walls was a rather dismal picture, and not one to quell the nervous trembling.

But the demon eyes took one last fleeting look to the edge behind him, brow pinched in doubt and a grimace betraying his resolve. Before he turned back, and stepped up on the raised edge of the building. He held his hands up to steady his balance against the wind. It was time to trust instincts. Close his eyes. And-

Today had been an awful day for you. You failed one of your exams (which meant your eventual demise would be soon considering how ruthless your two best friends were when it came to your grades) and some asshole actually managed to snag your school ID. Which meant you'd have to wake up early tomorrow, make an appointment with the guidance office, and sit with the headmaster for about several hours. Joy fucking joy.

At least you were still able to get into bars and the like. This one bar in particular (you forgot the name) had some delicious pizza. Not to mention the beer was out of this world.

So there you sat, alone and a little more drunk than usual, with your face hidden behind your palm.

♚ ——— Troublesome, that she had to walk a fair distance just to reach an animals' clinic, even with the aid of the gate portals that saved her quite a number of miles. It was not that she minded walking, it served as exercise, but- the sun; she was not used to such warm weather.

                     Suddenly, her wolves started barking at a stranger that passed too close. She hushed them immediately, with a sharp whistle that put them in their place. She could only thank herself wise for only bringing three on them, including the one with an upset stomach. Such creatures, though beloved to herself, are not as hospitable in urban places.

                     With a concerned expression, she looked to the passerby and voiced, "—are you startled?"
