Personally I don’t understand why they didn’t just use the same headmorph for each cameo. Like it actually took more effort to make different ones?

Oh man I LOVE your Elvhen sexuality/gender glossary, especially the clever ways you made hanalen-ma and darvallas. It's just a shame we don't know the Elvhen word for sex, so it's hard to think of a way to differentiate between, for example, asexual and aromantic. But then, would elves even have the distinction as a concept, I wonder? I don't think we know much about the relationship between sex and romantic love in elven culture, so for all I know it might not be necessary anyway.

I would like to think they do to at least some degree, as my Inquisitor is a biromantic ace... When I have time and enough brain power to come up with something, it would be nice to add to the post about romantic interest.

I've actually READ Asunder and I've spent years thinking that "Fuck the Divine (sighs) I'm certain the Divine is a perfectly nice person" was from some fandom shitpost, it just sounds so very... well, like a meme! I am so happy to be reminded that is, in fact, a canon quote from Fiona. It just makes me love her even more.

Oh, that ask you got actually made think of something: what DO we know about Morrigan's father? I mean, I seem to remember reading somewhere that he was an Avvar, but I'm not sure if that was canon or fanon.

*I meant Chasind in the last post, by the way. I mix up the two sometimes.

According to Flemeth’s codex entry as well as dialogue Morrigan has with Leliana, she frequently dallies with Chasind men

Upon meeting her, Alistair says Morrigan looks Chasind. Leliana also calls her “wild folk,” which the Chasnd are also referred to as. (”Wilders.”)

Her WoTv2 entry uses the heading “The Chasind Shapeshifter.”

WoTv2 also has several descriptive accounts about her:“A dark haired young woman, dressed in Chasind garb and looking very out of place.”“I looked and saw a girl in the branches--dark hair, a wilding dressed like a Chasind savage, no more than twelve years of age.”“Thought she’d come out of the woods, like other Chasind folk. Maybe to trade. We didn’t see any harm in bringing her in for a bit. Better to be friendly with them Chasind than tempt their anger, right?”

And in the early concept stages still tucked away in the toolset, her character notes describes her as being “exotic,” which of course is a bad use of that word but you know what it’s intended as.

I think it’s pretty clear Morrigan’s father was Chasind.

...okay, but why WOULDN'T the Qunari match races with each other? Isn't the whole point of the Qun that everyone is equal under it regardless of race? It just seems like a weird decision to suddenly have them be totally against miscegenation. I know it's Word Of God, but I can't help but question Bioware's worldbuilding there.

Gaider has said that inter-fantasy-racial couples have a lower fertility rate, though. Perhaps that is the reason, since the Tamassrans match people up with the pure intention of having children. I doubt it has anything to do with their supposed equality, and more to do with their supposed practicality.

Wait, is that legit concept art? They planned to make the armor look different based on your race? That would've been so cool! And frankly I like all three of those other designs better than the Trevelyan/canon design, so it's a real shame they went with that one, but I guess it was the only one that wasn't clearly visually tied to one race.

(x) Yep, it’s from The Art of Dragon Age: Inquisition on pg 17. To quote:

“We wanted to be able to interchange any element of the Inquisitor’s clothing and armour, regardless of class. This meant designing a series of core outfits with specific armour elements that could be added, swapped, or removed to get the biggest visual impact. We could then design sets based on a specific class, race, or faction, knowing that they would fit with everything else.”

But unfortunately they obviously had to scrap that, and instead every Inquisitor gets Trevelyan’s design. Probably due to time restraints, but IDK.

I was particularly interested in Cadash’s elements, since we don’t know a whole lot about Dwarven fashion trends. We know a fair amount found with elves and qunari, and with humans it just really depends on the nation they’re from, but not much for dwarves. Obviously it’s very reminiscent of their architectural style as well; very blocky, which is interesting!
