i feel like sara lance does not get enough credit for being a female character who freely transgresses gender roles. maybe it’s because she’s played by a cishet actor and styled relatively feminine on arrow and legends of tomorrow. but it’s a key part of her character even in arrow, which is much more reluctant to challenge gender norms than legends of tomorrow is. you see it a little in her wardrobe, but more in her behavior and the various roles she plays in the narrative. she’s very comfortable slipping between masculine and feminine personas in a way that few arrowverse characters are

fondly remembering dinahsiren from arrow.....it literally had everything. identity confusion. killing her boyfriend. superhero vs supervillain. redemption arc and the subsequent angst of not feeling good enough for her. crying when she apologizes to you for killing your boyfriend bc it was so much easier when you hated her. bitter enemies to reluctant allies to dear friends. singing a love song and looking right at her on the line “i’m in love with you” bc the writers won’t let you be gay for real. getting your happy ending and moving in together. could NOT have catered more directly to me if it tried

arrow season 2 is better than arrow season 1 because sara is there and NYSSA is there and sarafelicity is real and true but the sad thing is that they spend way less time in the big house with moira being cryptic matriarch which was the best part of arrow season 1 aside from oliver murdering people and then being sad when people called him a murderer. the big house really accentuated the soap opera vibe and when its gone well some of that gets lost!
