They’ve gone on runs together since pretty much day one. Every morning by 6am at the latest (except on weekends or mornings when heavy drinking took place the night before) they run. While everyone has kept relatively active, they’re the most committed to it. If you’re going to sit on your ass all day and night playing games, then you’re going to work for it.

She trusted him almost immediately with the budget and getting food, snacks, booze, etc. Jake has always been used to handling the finances, so his handling keeping items stocked was no issue. When it became an issue, he either replenished the fund or put a few items given by promoters onto eBay.

Jake and Carolina first get close on the night of the bad burritos. Everyone had eaten that night at the less than savory Taco Hell down the block. It was known for being low quality, not like the much cleaner and nicer one up the street. But they were drunk, hungry, and in a few cases stoned. So they ate.
And feast they did. Until about three hours later when everyone had either gone to bed, wound up in the bushes, the bathroom, or in one case hunched over the kitchen garbage. They two of them however had unluckily both run for the bathroom upstairs.
Nothing says friendship like holding back someones hair while they puke into a toilet and then projectile vomiting all over the back of their head while you almost shit your pants.

Things can get messed up in a house with gamers. Like really messed up. Late nights. Partying. Sex. Booze. Occasional recreational drugs.
But blacking out drunk is pretty commonplace.
What isn’t commonplace is waking up on the floor of your friend’s room with a children’s storybook in one hand and a now empty beer in the other as they sleep peacefully, all propped up. Honestly, why did it have to be Good Night Moon?
Whatever they did last night that prompted a bed time story, he really doesn’t want to ever know.
