Marc J. Johnson Elected Secretary-Treasurer Local 4390

Marc J. Johnson was elected unanimously on June 23, 2016 by the membership in attendance of the June 2016 meeting of CWA Local 4390. Johnson’s nomination was first approved by the Local 4390 Executive Board before the motion for the special election was placed before the membership. Johnson will serve out the term vacated by long-time, former Secretary/Treasurer, Floyd Dwain Gray.

Indiana Alabama Kentucky Louisiana and Texas Bases Facing Depopulation

Jerry Delaney, Senior Director Field Force Operations, has notified 18 separate bases of their pending depopulation by Alcatel-Lucent, USA. The action is directed at the following base locations:

 Birmingham, AL, Decatur, AL, Huntsville, AL, Mobile, AL, Montgomery, AL, Bloomington, IN, Indianapolis, IN, South Bend, IN, Denville, KY, Frankfort, KY, Louisville, KY

 Installers being asked to displace their lives if electing to relocate to the Framingham, MA base location effective March 8, 2015. The SVTP enhanced retirement offer, with an off-roll date of March 8, 2015 has been presented as an alternate choice.

 The action is also directed at the following base locations:

Baton Rouge, LA, Minden, LA, New Orleans, LA, Shreveport, LA, Abilene, TX, Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX

 Installers will be displaced if electing to relocate to the New York City base location, effective March 8, 2015. Off-roll date for the SVTP will also be March 8, 2015.

Len Koester, Alcatel-Lucent Operations Director has stated the names and personal contact information of the Installers involved will be supplied to various non-union, contracting companies. Koester declined specific names of those companies.

Indiana Bases Depopulation

Len Koester, Alcatel-Lucent Operations Director notified CWA Local 4390 of the depopulation of the Installation bases in Indianapolis, Bloomington and South Bend, Indiana. Three Installers affected have been notified of their options to take a permanent transfer to Framingham, Massachusetts.

4390 Member Installers being asked to displace their lives will be allowed visits to the assigned base locations and will need to submit their decision to accept the SVTP offer or the transfer by 5:00pm, February 5. Off-roll date for the SVTP will be March 8, 2015.

Koester also stated that the names and personal information of the three Installers will be supplied to various contracting companies, although he declined specific names of those companies.
