15. Playing rock paper scissor to see who gets the last of their fav food.
There was a difference he couldn’t quite point out or even explain about the last piece. That last piece of sushi that was calling for him (not literally). He had to have it, it felt right from him to consume it, not her. “Let’s settle this with a game of rock, paper, scissors!” He suggested, always wanting to add in some sort of game. He wasn’t going to give it up that easily, not even to Naeun.
Being the good friend that she was and probably will always be, she accepted his little challenge. “Okay, just one round.” Their eyes meet, a fierce stare down between the two ensued. With a fist clenched behind his back, Lucas began his thinking, contemplation on what the other was going to reveal. Rock paper scissors wasn’t just any game, it was psychological, mental warfare, at least to him. Rock, paper, or scissors? The choices were limited, but at the same time felt so endless. He could feel a drip of sweat race down his cheek. He took this too seriously. Naeun, on the other hand, had a rather deceptive smile played on those lips.
“Rock … paper … .scissors!” The two shot their hands up, revealing what they played. It couldn’t be, this wasn’t supposed to happen. Above her was the solid rock, above him was the inferior pair of scissors. He lost, a crushing defeat not only to his pride but to his stomach. Dejected, but accepting of the loss, he picked the glorious piece of sushi off the plate and personally fed her the last of its kind. “ … . Next time, I’ll have my revenge.”
