It seemed as though threats facing the world doubled daily, a new cosmic disaster every month. It was exhausting, Jessica missing times where it took at least a few weeks to see a new alien. Though, she supposed that had been best friend's life for even longer, and probably would be forever.

She just wanted it to slow down a bit.

Opening their messages, Jessica sent Carol three texts: 〝 Miss you. Wanna grab some coffee ? I'll buy you a donut.〞 She didn't like doughnuts herself, but she hoped this would entice Carol to join her. Who better to slow down with ?
