Welcome to my blog! I'm an employee at the Kanto Safari Zone and I'll probably use this blog to talk about that often. There's a lot of things here that the visitors don't tend to be aware of, and I like to talk to talk about them. This is not technically an official blog, given that there isn't one, but Baoba, the owner, is okay with me doing this. Speaking of whom, I've heard that in some other worlds he closed the place some time after team rocket left the region, but that didn't happen here. While he did open a second safari zone in Johto, he would never close this one. He respects and cherishes the pokemon here, so he would never allow something to be built in the place they call home (with the exception of maintenance and rest buildings, which are necessary).

I guess I'll add some information about me. I'm Cyan, he/they, and I have two pokemon. My first pokemon was Venom the venomoth, I caught him when he was a venonat and he's been my best friend ever since. My second pokemon is Bull the tauros, who had to be taken out of the safari zone because he was sick. I helped take care of him and then he didn't want to go away, so I caught him.

I've been following more blogs with normal people living in the pokemon world and I realized that I didn't have someone like that (also, every other character, for one reason or another, makes me doubt if I should interact with blogs, doubt this will help that much but whatever). Anyway, lately I've been watching KrillikVA's videos, and these two are definitely part of why this specific idea was on my mind. Merge both things and we get this blog.

Did you know that safari balls are modified to only allow certain pokemon to be caught with them? This is to ensure that both pokemon that live there to ensure a balanced ecosystem and pokemon from outside that somehow enter the areas aren't taken away by some trainer.

This, of course, doesn't mean that all safari balls are like this, as we're aware that they're sold in some places as normal pokeballs, but ours are connected to a system that can be updated to meet the requirements of the areas in any given moment.

Today I had to save a kid from the caterpie because he got annoyed he couldn't catch them and decided to make that the caterpie's problem. Remember, just because they're weak doesn't mean that one can't hurt you, and there's a lot of them in the forest.

Why do you have to take gyarados out of the safari zone? Aren't they native to the area?

They are, however their natural predator in the area is extinct. After the expansion of Fuchsia city towards the north, some local species were driven out of their habitats and ended up disappearing from Kanto. While we have taken the land back and transformed it into the safari zone for the preservation of the area, we've yet to find sufficient genetic material of those species to bring them back, the same way Pewter city does with fossils.

One of these pokemon was kantonian pachirisu, whose grass typing and pack hunting techniques allowed them to take down these massive water type pokemon. They exclusively lived in these forests, so they couldn't survive in other areas.

That's also the reason why some of our pokemon aren't native to Kanto, they were brought here to fill the ecological niches that are no longer covered by these kantonian pokemon. We couldn't find a substitute for kantonian pachirisu that wouldn't disrupt the ecosystem more, so we have to deal with the gyarados ourselves.

I'm back, I couldn't post before because a gyarados broke my phone. I didn't really have time to go buy another one, and also I didn't have a backup of my phone. Anyway, the magikarp center finally took the gyarados, so I don't have to help take care of them anymore.

Oh, that poor kid. I was going to contact her because it seemed like everyone was really aggressive to her beliefs, but the people that usually take care of the Gyarados we get and find them homes couldn't take them, so I've been busy helping with whatever I could. I hope she can get somewhere safe soon.

The gyarados evolved during my shift, so you get a video of my pokemon helping contain the situation. I'm the one that arrives at the start of the video.

A gyarados can be seen emerging from the river's water. Several safari zone employees are already there, releasing their pokemon. Another person, presumably Cyan, approaches riding a tauros from the south, near the camera. He exchanges some words with their coworkers while releasing Venom.

The gyarados gets out of the water while the other pokemon set up. A pidgeot uses tailwind, but it doesn't affect all pokemon, so Venom uses quiver dance for himself. Venom uses sleep powder, but it fails. The gyarados uses brine, shooting a stream of water that hits several flying pokemon, making it difficult for them to fly. Luckily, Venom managed to avoid most of it, but he does seem to have trouble with one of his wings.

Someone's persian scratches the gyarados, who reciprocates with an ice fang, freezing the pokemon. Bull runs towards the water pokemon in a zigzag pattern and jumps towards it. Bull used trailblaze, which is not super effective duty to the flying type of gyarados.

Someone's butterfree uses stun spore, which works, paralyzing the wild pokemon. Suddenly, something jumps out of the lake. This catches everyone by surprise, and as they look to the sky a flashing light can be seen coming from above. A second gyarados lands and bites a nearby kangaskhan. Its trainer sends their rhydon to counterattack. A rock tomb hits the second gyarados, damaging it considerably. However, the pokemon uses brine, knocking out the rock/ground type.

A safari zone employee throws what looks like a safari ball at the first gyarados, capturing it. A second one tries to do the same with the other water type, but it escapes. Bull approaches it and uses close combat, which hurts it enough so that a second ball does the job.

A couple of trainer owned chanseys, with the help of some wild ones that got attracted by the fight, help heal the pokemon that participated in the battle. Cyan can be seen petting their pokemon and giving them treats. One man takes the balls with the recently captured pokemons, probably to take them to get healed and calmed down in a controlled environment.

A strange mimikyu appears… wait, no, it's a ditto. It is accompanied by a strange Porygon. It uses transform and becomes a nuzleaf, then points towards the candy.

Oh, hello little guy, what are you doing here?

Wait, how did you turn into a nuzleaf? There are none of them in the room.

*Cyan follows the nuzleaf's hand and sees the candy bowl*

Oh, you want chocolate? I'm sorry, but that's not good for you, I think.
