On the topic of Assimilation2 I do enjoy how well it works with the Cybermen or cyber-like beings being something that just naturally occurs in a variety of time and places. Not only do you already have the Cybus Cybermen and the Mondasian/Telos/Etc. being compatible you’ve also got the Borg which means that the Cybermen aren’t just something that happen across one universe, but multiple dimensions. Assimilation2 also has the brief merger between the two resulting in the Borg acquiring the time travel tec they use in First Contract, and while we never see the Cybermen adapting Borg elements their next televised appearance features them suddenly possessing nano-conversion technology, and then there’s the look of the Doctor’s upgrades.....
