The Godzilla Corner - Dark Horse Universe - Earth Date: 1995 - G-Force and the U.N. reveal their ultimate weapon against Godzilla - the Cybersaur!
Making Mechagodzilla insensitive in one of those big timeline crossovers
I feel “Kiryu” and “Cybersaur” would be fun to use as names for “Mechagodzilla in everything but name” due to being in development prior to an alien style Mechagodzilla arriving, causing immediate overhauls in design ideas and naming. Like, I’m pretty sure governments coming out with their own Mechagodzilla right after all the mass deaths would be a public relations nightmare.

A version of Kiryu that tries more to hide the Godzilla bones usage and look more like a generic “metal dragon” would be interesting.

Garuda redesign/rework
A weapons project that became discontinued then into an experimental testbed for tech, the Garuda is an odd bird.
The Garuda's wings are transformable, made of partially programmable smart materials. However, no "gray goo" scenario is possible here: they are made up of multiple smart materials that work in concert like different kinds of tissue.
Its initial weaponry were two maser cannons with hardpoints for additional attatchments, but it would later be refitted with less energy consuming weapons that can work more effectively in all weather conditions.
As part of cooperation between engineering teams, the Garuda is compatible and can dock with both Cybersaur and Kiryu.
The Garuda had issues with fuel storage/consumption ratios that kept it mostly limited its range of travel during its early career, but integration of alien technology and engineering breakthroughs during the development of Cybersaur would eventually remove that liability. The net result was a more durable, and maneuverable craft.

Inspired by how people working on the film stated they wanted "Natural Life vs Artificial Life" was intended to be a theme for the Heisei Mechagodzilla movie
I personally think they kinda failed at executing it, but I thought an interesting idea to explore and hence my purposed changes for the wings.
Aside from the wings, the other change I would make is giving the thing landing gear.
Cybersaur: Is basically a hybrid of Heisei Mechagodzilla and Dark Horse Cybersaur, with the idea of being capable of both lethal and nonlethal ways of dealing with kaiju.
Kiryu is mostly unchanged, but draws upon. Lacks the versatility of Cybersaur, but lower upkeep costs and capable of regenerating some of its internals
