She trusted me enough to be near them while feeding them (and to let me pet her from time to time). Of course, I couldn’t just let them all be out in the cold like this, so I had planned to get them and the mother indoors until I could find homes for them. Buuuuuut by the time I had everything I needed to get started, she had moved them elsewhere. So, I thought that was the end of it. UNTIL ALMOST TWO MONTHS LATER
I found one of them. Kept an eye on him for sometime, but never saw the mama around him nor have I seen her for awhile. So I took ‘em in. At first, he just sulked in the corner of his cage while growling and hissing at me, but not even a day had passed when I was cleaning out his cage (with one hand because I had to hold him) and had put him in my lap for what meant to be just for a second, he suddenly calmed down and just lay there contently. A week later, it’s gotten to the point where the little sweetheart roams my basement freely without making any messes and is always happy to see me and even more so to let me pick him up and carry him for awhile. Heck, he’s even using a litter box. No one around was looking for a kitten, and I already have four cats, so I’ve found a non-kill shelter (I checked) that will take him until he can be adopted. Also, his name is now Dusty.
