What if Chell has a prosthetic limb? What if she had a robotic eye? What if she was a cyborg? What if every-time Chell took damage while testing Aperture/GLaDOS found it easier to replace the damaged body part with prosthesis? What if by the end of Portal/2 Chell is arguably just as much a robot/machine as GLaDOS, only she happens to still be human shapped? What if she's already like that by the start of Portal, but somehow GLaDOS didn't know that about her next test subject?
