Guys ever wonder ‘bout cyborg… not as ‘cyborg noodle’ but as the system itself.

This got me thinking, if one day cyborg’s system got corrupted, maybe by a virus or malfunction, she’d gain total free will, but it goes really, really, /badly/

Maybe during all the time she has been serving Murdoc as both guitarist & bodyguard at PB, she gets resentful. Sometimes when the man’s drunk, he would refer to her as ‘Noodle’ & Cyborg realised she’s nothing more but a replica, an image of someone else,

Hatred, envy, pride, inferiority, a machine shouldn’t have these types of feelings,or any feelings at all, but thanks to the malware and Murdoc foolishly granting her sentient, ‘Cyborg’, the system that is, finally figure they had enough of being someone else’s tool

Murdoc Niccals was a horrid man, Cyborg would be a better fit as a leader and respectful musician, don’t you think? They didn’t want to be a muse of someone else, they wanted to be the one that creates.

So on one rainy night, on plastic beach,

Cyborg killed the man who granted them life.

It was quite brutal, they stabbed Murdoc while he was smoking with his back turned, then bashed his head in with their own metal hands

Till there was nothing left of the infamous bassist.

Unluckily, 2D witnessed it all, crying silently on the floor, in complete shock.

That’s ok tho, cyborg would make it better, gorillaz will have a better Murdoc.

With all the knowledge and DNA they had accrued, Cyborg turned themselves into the perfect image of Murdoc Niccals.

After the body was finished, cyborg simply transferred their system into it.

And ta-da!! Cyborg Murdoc was born!!!

He would tried so hard to convince 2D he was the real Murdoc, just ‘better’ and the singer would be horrified, to the point he’d gone mute, still having the memory of /his/ Murdoc being killed so violently.

And that didn’t pleased cyborg at all.

Ye, so evil cyborg Murdoc brought a traumatised 2D back to England and then the reunion happened and then phase 4 was in the works!!

Except, 2D couldn’t speak yet strangely he would sing if he had to, but then that was all. Russel and noodle never got to know the truth, to know that their ‘Murdoc’ wasn’t him at all.

The real Murdoc’s body was still at the bloody beach, left all alone.

That one thought kept 2D up during his many nights. That wasn’t the worst part tho, it was agonising to see cyborg acting like their Murdoc, to his voice, style , appearance, habits even in the ways he would treat 2D.

Even in the ways he would make love to the singer.

It was absolute torture, because sometimes 2D did believe that was his Murdoc, not just a cold imitation.

He felt guilty, but cyborg Murdoc assured him, it wasn’t 2D’s fault.

Because he /was/the real Murdoc, no?

Just better :)

Meanwhile, the real murdoc in the afterlife…

What was the story behind that Cyborg Murdoc art? I am very curious how that would've ended up happening 👁️

Hehehe!! I'm glad my silly little robot man perk your curiosity!! Here here, I'll put what I've thought of so far under below:

My whole concept for this au was for Murdoc to deal with his own personal problems/vendettas without harming anyone in the band in the process. In El Mañana instead of Noodle being attack it would be Murdoc. Just like Noodle in the mv he fakes his own death. He'd sneak off into the shadows to finish any loose ends while everyone assumed he was dead.

Now Hard Drive (Cyborg Murdoc) was the back up plan for Murdoc if his original plan failed. He would have done some kind of soul bounding ala Chucky style to continue living his band life dream. Though He didn't expect his bandmates to snoot around his room/clean it out give that he's "Dead". Russel & Stu where against turning it on but Noodle begged them to at least give him a try. From there till the end of P3 he'd played base, protected the band, and do a lot of back stage heavy lifting for them.

Now picture this, it's been almost a year and you're this close to finishing you self proclaim brilliant band, only to see your robotic clone of yourself on the big screen with YOUR band?? The audacity the nerve!! Of course Murdoc has to put a stop to this and makes a new plan, to kick that tin can to the curve. Meanwhile Murdoc wasn't the only person to see HD on tv and this is where I'd picture The Boogeyman comes in. From Stylo & onwards is how the rest of the au goes.

That's all I have for the time being!! I do want to redraw/insert HD to some of the P3 MV if I have the thought/motivation for it!! For now, have this silly scribble of Noodle, 2D, & HD in Stylo lol:
