been thinking abt this vaguely modern/fantasy au okay hear me out

modern times but magic/mythical creatures do exist theyre just... rumours and stuff. thought to have been made extinct a few generations ago but they survive on in secret

project freelancer agents are all magical creatures and the aim of the project is to “”cure”” them (surprise surprise it loses focus and starts actually trying to weaponise them). wash is a vampire and maines a big ol beastman (who wasnt always that big or beastly)

anyway theyre tryna find+retrieve an escaped entity (epsilon) and while questioning this random guy with bionics some great accidental disaster happens and oh no he accidentally becomes a vampire too oops how did that happen oh well at least now they have him on a metaphorical leash
