proof it’s a date and not just a friend outing: their body language. they’re right next to each other and leaning slightly in the body language does not lie
and the others are so tired of them. like at first it was cute – “aww, look at the stoic I-Am-Not-Batman and adorably terrifying alien , both of whom we love.” but then… neither of them made a move.
robin just suppresses his emotions Way Too Much and believes that love , at least romantic love, will be his downfall/used against him blah blah blah (even though… the same could be said for friends…. robin wh) and he probably doesnt realize his feelings until bb starts explaining this huge crush he has on this girl (i’d like to think it’d be raven but it’d probably be terra, in this context) and robin’s like “hm that’s weird i have those same feelings for star.”
and then his mind does that record scratch thing like “hold up holD UP WHAT”
starfire grew up the princess and most likely was told that she’d be arranged a marriage. she read many stories and wished for her own love, but never truly considered it a possibility until she was filled with the rage of being forced to become a slave and she hit earth, met the titans, and was filled with this inexplicable love
she’d be so caught up with having people who she loved, and who loved her back (in a more inward fashion) that she wouldn’t be able to distinguish all the feelings pent up inside of her. eventually, though, she’d talk to raven – who is an emotions expert, as much as raven doesn’t want to be. raven would be deadpan tho “you have a crush”
