I was late getting away from the office today. It’s an interesting place to be at the moment. I biked home as the sun was setting. I stopped to watch a while as I rode through the wetlands. It was pretty chilly out there so I didn’t stop for long. When I got home I was just too cold to go back out and gather the last steps of the day so I put the fire on and did some tidying to get to 10k.

It was chilly on the bike tonight. I had three layers of warm clothing on for the ride and I hardly raised a sweat. I did stop a few times along the way. A light display was being set up by the office and they were testing the lights. It looked pretty cool so I stopped for a look then I did some walking. I had been in meetings so had very few steps on the clock. Once out of the traffic I jumped onto the bike and rode until I got to the Wetlands where I stopped to watch the sunset and to get the feeling back in my fingers. I walked another k then rode some more until eventually I got home. All motivation to do a strength workout was gone. Maybe tomorrow.

So things were pretty boring in the office today. Not much happening then it rained at lunchtime so I just kept on working. The hospital phoned to ask me to pick up a bag of washing from Mum. I biked there after work. The hospital is locked down due to COVID so I only just stepped in the front door and the security guard handed me the bag. It was not far to ride from there to home. Once there I got changed and headed out for a run. It looked like rain again and my body took a while to get going in the cool conditions but get going I did and made it to the beach. The sand was soft and littered with driftwood. I didn't run far on the beach deciding to head back into the forest for the homeward leg. We have had a lot of rain so the forest was full of mushrooms and toadstools. Oh and I saw a Shag trying to dry its wings. Good luck with that buddy there was no sunshine out there today. When I got to the park the sports fields had been mowed and marked out so I ran some intervals along the lines before heading home for burgers for dinner. I enjoyed that run and the burger.

The sun was out at lunchtime so you can guess where I ate my sandwich. The bees were super busy everywhere, they had so many flowers to choose from. After I ate my sandwich I checked out the Dahlia beds, what a wonderful selection. I would like some more Dahlia's in my garden so I took some pictures of my favourites. I biked home into the wind, it is weird not stopping at Mum's place. I had a blowout on the way home but it wasn't a tyre thank goodness but rather a glove. I might have to shop for some more. I really dont like biking without gloves and it is not cold enough for winter gloves yet. Once home I did arms in the Tiny Gym. Hubby texted he was stuck on the motorway and would be late, he would bring tea.

I moved a lot today. I had my 15 flights of stairs by 2pm and 6k steps after lunching with Daughter. I rode my bike home today. It was cold so I rode fast. I stopped biking and did a run walk for a block and a half. My little run walks have been my little mini challenge over the past few weeks. I found I struggled to get my steps when pushing my bike with my hands on the handlebars. My Garmin arm needed to be swinging to get the steps. I trained myself to push the bike with one hand. Easy you say, well I have about 10kg worth of laptop, lunch bag and gear bag stowed in the pannier bags and its a mountain bike so not light and not easy for me to do. It took me a couple of weeks to master walking and pushing the bike one handed. This week I found I can run and push the bike one handed. Next I will start jumping off the bike earlier and running further. It is great to challenge yourself even if its something small like running and pushing your bike. When I got home I got changed and headed out the door for a five km run. It felt slow but 28 minutes for 5 km straight off the bike and getting the bins in is not bad. There was no one home when I got back from my run so I prepared dinner and copped a face full of spiderweb when I went down the garden to get veg. Stretches and shower while Hubby took over the cooking of the dinner. Yummy tea, now I have to put a piece in the puzzle before bed. Gotta love a full on day.

It is a chilly grey day today, a taste of the winter to come. Happily I am working from home so no bicycle commute in the chilly drizzly weather today. On my break I picked some self sewn pansies which have sprouted in the vegetable garden. They brighten my workspace beautifully.

It was a nice day for a bike ride to Mum’s after work. No wind makes all the difference. As I biked home after my visit I realised I still needed steps but it was too late to stop and walk. We decided to go for a short walk around the block after dinner. There is a new build by the park we wanted to look at. The stormy sky was supposed to bring rain this evening but we got back from our walk without getting rained on. The step streak lives on.

I did a lot of walking around today so I had my steps by the time I got back from my lunchtime walk in the gardens. It was lovely and warm on my favourite park bench today. It was a lovely relaxing half hour in the middle of a busy day. The bike ride home was into the wind as usual but it was not strong. I did almost get run over during my ride home but I made it home alive. After checking Hubby was ok after his dental procedure today I headed out for a 5km run through the neighbourhood. I made it back in good time and even had time to stretch before dinner. I feel the need to go lie down and sleep now, not surprising after all that moving about.
