#5km run

Glad I got myself out for my run today, it was a tough day and I was glad I pretty much had the beach to myself. I did meet a very wet dog along the way who transferred a good portion of the Pacific Ocean onto my legs when it greeted me. Good to have something to laugh about and great to chalk up two strong runs so far in a very challenging week.

Running Dump.

Still down, it’s whatever. Still been running. Decided to start doing speed workouts again. Did two last week since I can’t lift with my thumb injury. Felt nice to run fast again. Did an easy run yesterday to prepare for my long run today. It went well. New record for me as far as distance and time goes. Treated myself to some food around the park. Not pictured, shallowed whole.

Started back at work Jan 3rd, and have been busy and not posting on here.

The week was super good tho! Went swimming Wednesday night. Had a rest day Thursday and worked out the other days. Meal planning and good tracking has been good.

And I'm just slightly up from my 5km time last week. It definitely would have been ever faster if I wasn't spending time waiting for my brother who was pushing the stroller (I'm not ready for the stroller on this trail - Fuck. That.).

Gonna skip leg day because of my run and do upper body again tonight, maybe some yoga too.

It was raining when I headed off to work this morning. I did manage to get a walk in at morning tea time without getting wet. By lunchtime the rain had gotten very strong so I just worked on through. By home time the rain was steady and not looking like stopping. I like running in the rain so I headed off for a 5km run around the streets of the neighbourhood. I got soaked to the skin, best part of my day.

I had one of those days where the work just kept on coming. I was on the go but outside there was snow. It was freezing, windy, raining then snow started to fall. I was glad I did not have to go out in it but by home time I only had a few thousand steps. I decided I would rug up and head out for a run when I got home. My legs were still a bit tight from the weekend race so I was a bit slow today. It was cold and windy too. I almost made it home without getting wet but as I ran past the golf course it started to hail, it was a bit stingy but I made it home slightly frozen and a little damp.

Yay the tide was out so I had plenty of good firm sand to run on today. I am feeling tired after a couple of full on days at work so my run was a great way to de-stress. It was very overcast as I ran but there were plenty of spring blooms to brighten up my run home.

The sky was just beautiful today so I made and effort to get out there and enjoy it.
