2. Nyle

The Top 2 were in their own league and it was nearly impossible to decide between them. Nyle totally succeeded at delivering a perfect face for the brief. His expression is empty but there’s still a spark and a presence in his eyes, and I love the small smile. His pose is fantastic as well! The doll hands are great and I love how he’s modeling all the way down to his toes. On a thirsty note, his body looks incredible too! This is undeniably Nyle’s best work to date and the real beginning of his ascension to frontrunner status (although the judges pushed that angle a couple weeks earlier).

#2 – Justin

Justin’s cool, suave nature definitely reads stronger in motion than photos. Firstly, the calm tones to his voice are almost hypnotic, and it is my personal favourite delivery of the lines. He almost makes them sound normal…almost. The connection between the two of them was virtually palpable. The times the two of them were on camera together, the spark was tangible. Justin still just stole my eyes for those, it reminded me of the genuine softness he brought in his paired shot with Mame. His solo shots were good too, but I found them a bit more superficially hot, with not much else going on. It was definitely the paired moments that sold the commercial.

1. Lacey

Lacey killed this photoshoot! I thought that adding in the booty tooch would be a struggle for her, but she’s making it look so easy. Everything about her posture is impeccable, she has flawless Barbie hands, and I love how she’s bringing curves and angles to her pose without losing her doll-like rigidness. I adore how cartoon-like her face is and I’m impressed by how she somehow made the blow-up doll expression look so great. Her eyes are connecting strongly, but there’s just enough lifelessness to keep the doll illusion alive. She’s also modeling the heck out of that dress on top of it all. This is one of Lacey’s most memorable shots in her entire portfolio!

#7 – Nyle

Nyle is an incredibly attractive guy, but I still felt underwhelmed slightly. I expected him to nail this, but I never really connected to him. I think the sign language just breaks the illusion a bit, and I’d honestly rather they had just adapted Ashley’s lines to cover both their roles. He still did great though, and looked strong throughout. His solo shots were probably stronger, as his sign language sort of played into the swagger, but then when he did it with Ashley the actions just broke the connection between the two of them.

3. Mikey

Mikey finally returned to form after a few rough weeks. He’s doing everything that he’s supposed to in this shot; his pose is strong and fits the doll theme, he’s selling the clothes, and his face has the correct mixture of vacancy and life. The subtle fierceness of his expression fits the “Savage Smize” theme, and the forward lean adds some more dimension without compromising the doll illusion. Mikey’s shot is definitely very good, just not nearly as much of a standout as my top 2 this week.

4. Hadassah

Hadassah’s face is so gorgeous here, and her wide-eyed, innocently blank stare fits the hippie theme they gave her really well. The only improvement she could’ve made is that she should’ve given a small grin, but otherwise she did a great job. Her pose is spot on as well. She positioned herself in a very doll-like way and she’s selling every article of clothing and accessory on her body. I was glad that Hadassah’s possession shot wasn’t a fluke and that she was actually showing some progress in her photos.

5. Justin

Justin nailed the body language in his shot. He looks rigid enough to be a doll, but still has a slight swagger that fits his “Booch N’ Baller” theme. The clothes look good and he’s using his phone in a proper way. The problem I have with his shot is that his face isn’t quite meeting the vacant but still alive expression that I wanted. He kind of just looks sleepy to me (still handsome as ever though!). It’s not the greatest shot, but Justin is significantly above the bottom 4 models this week.

6. Mamé

Mamé’s shot has several flaws. The phone held up to her ear is positioned strangely, and her face, while stunning, is a bit too lifelike to be a doll. The locked knees aren’t typical of a Barbie Doll, but they don’t bother me as much as they seemed to irk the judges. In fact, I find her overall body position to be rather action figure-like. The small positives here and there are enough to buoy Mamé out of danger this week, but this is still one of her weakest shots in her entire portfolio.
