What was worse giving half the girls immunity in all stars or giving 7 out of 9 girls FCO in c24 (speaking of which ain't it funny how the only time Jeana got FCO it was shared with 6 other girls and it was in one of her weakest photos of the cycle)?

Hm, both sucked, but I'm gonna go with the 7/9 FCO. It was just irritating and felt so fake. I said this when I was watching live, but I felt bad for whoever got called first, since it was like false praise in a way. Similarly, it felt so contradictory of the message to them single out Erin and Christina as the bottom 2, and like counteracted the fake positive vibe they were going for. I think if they had made it a non-elimination or something, it could have felt less horrid, but yeah, not a fan.

The All-Stars immunity was still sucky, but its the kind of unfortunate thing I expect from a reality TV show, to have twists. Isis may have been a bit screwed, but it was just drama rather than feeling preachy.

Also, that being Jeana's only FCO is...tragic. That cycle did her so dirty, I know Khrystyana is the one people like to focus on for getting screwed over, but Jeana was done so much worse. At least Khrystyana got a positive edit, they just went in on Jeana for the most part, which is still so weird when looking back at how positive the makeover episode was.

out of curiosity, what was your favourite picture from cycle 24 and has your opinion changed? back when i was reading your old commentary i realised that the post had gotten removed and i've been wondering what it was 😬

I think by the looks of things it was Sandra's Vulnerable photo (Week 7), and I do still love that shot, even if the whole hands touching them has a slight weirder vibe in 2022 than it did back then. Ultimately still not a huge fan of most of Cycle 24 photoshoots, so much wasted potential across the board.

I think Liberty's post-makeover video would now be a contender for number 1, but I actually think Shanice's Parachute shot might actually be my favourite. She is the only one for me who produced a good shot from that shoot, and I had been so excited about it all season from when I saw it in the promos. It was her shining moment on the show.

I have a theory that cycle 16 was such a huge success because they did not have an official casting. They had less of a sense of the girls personalities to influence the final decision. I just watched the first episode and one of the things that popped out at me was that Tyra labeled Angelia as sassy and then she gets in to the house and DOES NOT HAVE THE WORST PHOTO and is NOT sassy and cut. It seems like they might have cast her for personality and then she just did not bring what they thought

That might be true, but with the amount of pre-show interviews and castings the models go through, I definitely think Tyra would know what she expected of each model, even if we didn’t get to see their initial casts.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Angelia was cut though for that reason, even if there wasn’t a shown audition. No doubt Tyra will have plans for each of them, and Angelia might have been the sassy girl, who gets into conflicts. Then when she went into the house was clearly a lot less confrontational than they expected, as how someone acts in front of a panel while auditioning will be a lot different from how they actually interact in the house. It has happened so many times for girls who last long (I think Jeana was intended to be more inspirational, but ended up as a bitch, and someone like Eugena was intended to be a bitch, but ended up being “wasted potential”), and is probably the same for early outs, just being harder to spot.

I am absolutely dying to know what you thought of Cory Anne! I personally loved her and even tho she was not deserving of the title I think she was a hell of a lot better than Tatiana with her flat ass pictures and lotion.

…I feel like you may find my rankings to be interesting then. I actually kind of loved CoryAnne, but not her modelling. I won’t say much more, but I would definitely rate Tatiana higher than CoryAnne overall, though a lot of that has to do with the business, boss, brand aspect of the cycle.

I am not going to lie, I love Khrys but I always felt that she tried a bit hard to push this whole body positivity thing. Not to say that her message is disingenuous or anything but I always felt like she was just forcing herself with showing her slightly extra weight and pushing the rolls thing really hard. It is so evident now that she is advocating more for just people with all types of bodies and she stands next to them with her perfect proportions like she’s the same when she really is not.

I get what you mean. Khrys, like most other ANTM plussies, has a figure most girls would die for, and while the wide perception has changed, I still think Khrys probably suffers. Sure she may be better than others, but I bet she gets as much schtick as others. The way she uses her rolls is a form of protest. She is reclaiming her beauty. Even now plus size models who are mainstream have sleek figures, and their rolls are photoshopped. People like the curves, but hate what comes with them. People like Khrys are making it clear you can’t pick and choose, and I love that about her.

Is it all a bit overthetop? Maybe. It is like someone like Kyla protesting for black lives. You could say she isn’t black, but regardless of how we view it she is making a decision to fight to help those who aren’t borderline; who are hurt just because how they look. In my opinion there is no too much when it comes to fighting for a change when it remains peaceful, like what Khrys does.

How do feel about Khrystyana and her almost obsessive posts and attendance of LGBTQA events? I thought she hardly even knew anything of the community and now she’s like submerged in it at all times.

I’m all for it. Sure Khrys might not be the most knowledgable, but anyone willing to throw themselves into the community, and be an ambassador for them is fine by me. She was such a sweet person, and I feel like all her posts are posted because she actually cares, and wants to help, and not just done in an attempt to make herself seem cooler, like some people do.

Plus Khrys has always used her Instagram to fight for body positivity, so I’m not surprised she is now beginning to branch out into fighting for other causes. It just seems like the type of person she is.

Have you seen Coura/Kyla’s instagram stories about rooming together? I’m like 90% sure Coura’s lezzing out for Kyla lmao

I haven’t. I will admit I have fallen behind following the lives of the Cycle 24 contestants, aside from a select few, but I find it’s nice to see that they are rooming after the show. It is things like that which make me slightly less mad about the manipulation that goes on behind the scenes.
