Good morning everyone! Here’s a little filler video while I’m working on stuff behind the scenes. This time I want to take you down a trip down memory lane between 2017-2020 where I pretty much worked exclusively on Jolly’s SFMMovie collab series thanks to the time it took to render out the C4D submissions in particular on the old Hackintosh workstation...

So here it is! 2 years since my last animation and months of hard work later, I present “She’s The Doctor”! 

A few people I want to thank first: Sophie Violin first and foremost for composing the amazing soundtrack! Based on what I wanted - I couldn’t be happier with the results! Also I want to thank Neptunika, as I was really worried this would become another “Corners of the Universe”, he was the first person I turned to for very detailed, informative feedback for me to improve on... He’s truly an amazing person!

And finally: I want to thank all of my followers and subscribers for their patience for the last 2 years as most of my plans during the intervening years just fell through, and you guys/gurls have been so patient with me, which I am eternally grateful for! =)

Now on what I learnt during this initiative:

Honestly, outside the experience on animating in this choppy style, the main thing I learned is with Kdenlive! As you know, I’ve been having trouble importing image sequences into the aforementioned editor, and today I discovered that the problem lies with the TGA file format I use to render out my sequences... Something about it just doesn’t gel with Kdenlive, I changed over to PNGs and I had no problems what so ever with it! So as lossless and uncompressed as TGA is, it ain’t going to do much good if I can’t import it properly into the video editor to work with, so I’ll be switching over PNGs for the time being...

So after a full 87.5 hours later... the third and final shot for my C4D short is finally rendered! So since it did finish a full day earlier then I intended; I’m going to spend some of today doing the post-production on this short.

The time it took to render this shot, let alone the entire short, is so mind bogglingly long that I cannot really comprehend it, honestly... It’s interesting to find out, especially since I’m moving over to Blender with it’s real-time “EEVEE” renderer, which should take hours instead of weeks to render out a similarly length short.
