a sock with some fair isle decoration at the top of the leg! this is the first fair isle piece i've done, and mostly to learn how to do it, so i'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. the pattern makes the cuff a little tighter this way, which isn't a bad thing, since it helps the leg stay up better
this is also my first experience working from my own pattern in excel. it's a really basic pattern, because i am but an egg, but it helped make the whole process less intimidating. made me think about my long ago number theory class, since a pattern that is relatively prime to total number of stitches will eventually cycle through every position on the needle, and one that isn't will stay static, like this. i don't know what if anything to do with that, but it was fun to think about, anyway
