While INDIA celebrated its 70th Republic Day on Saturday with grand display of its defense capabilities and it’s cultural and social heritage at the Red Fort, some 1000 nautical miles from Delhi a cyclist group of around 1500 people from various parts of the nation such as Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka congregated in Hubli for “Cyclothsava-19″ an event to set a new Guinness World Record for the “longest single line bicycles parade”.
The 1,500 cyclists coming from various nook & corner of the nation started their rally from Oxford College which is at the outskirts of Hubli, subsequently several of these cyclists dropped out in the first attempt but the second attempt started with 1,235 cyclists who pedaled to glory by reaching Kusugal on National Highway 218 setting a new Guinness World Record and breaking the previous Guinness World Record which was held in Bangladesh, where 1186 had pedaled in a single line for 3.2 Km in 2016.

This record attempt was to mark Republic Day with the message “#Respectcyclists”. Also, the motive of this occasion was to create awareness on health benefits from cycling and efforts in reducing the carbon footprint.
