So, I'm doing a little digging around trying to get some 'basic' info on Mandalore/Mandalorians, and I have... questions.
Did the Children of the Watch not teach their children/foundlings about the other Mandalorians? The ones who don't adhere to the Code? The 'pacifists'?
And also how did Din go his whole adult life without seeing another Mandalorian outside of his tribe?
OK so from my research: The traditionalists separated from the pacifist Mandalorians between 41-39 BBY in what was known as The Great Clan Wars, and then the Traditionalists got exiled to the moon.
20 years later, in 19 BBY, the Siege of Mandalore happened. This is when Bo-Katan led the Death Watch against her sister in a bid for Mandalore (probably not exactly - I'm just paraphrasing). In the same year, the attack on Aq Vetina happened (where Din was rescued as a child), AND Grogu was rescued by Beq.
From what the wiki talks about, Bo was put in charge of Mandalore after the Siege, but it doesn't say anything about them keeping a low profile.
My research says that the Purge of Mandalore didn't even happen until 24 years later in 4 ABY- 5 ABY.
So for at least 15 of those years - give or take -, Din was off flying around in space and he NEVER ran across another Mandalorian from the 'pacifists'? Even when he was running with Ran's crew?
Make it make sense.
