“These are some photos of the results I am achieving growing Cymbidium seedlings from flask. My goal is to grow them from flask flowering size as quickly as possible. I use Anova pots, coconut husk chips and water soluble nutrient to achieve this. It would be impossible using Bob Bishop's method of waterwell pots, raw bark, perlite, charcoal and slow relase fertilizer to achieve this. I tried this method using flower buckets with holes drilled 40 mm from the base thus creating a resevoir of water in the base of the pot 10 years ago achieving very poor results. For those who may not know flower buckets are standard pots without the drainage holes. There is a 230 mm flower bucket, 9 inches in the old measurements and these are the strongest pots I am aware of. Now for the photos. The community pot is 3 months out of flask. The plant it is photographed with is exactly 2 years older and is gowing in a 230 mm flower bucket with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage. All of the other plants are growing in 175 mm Anova pots and have produced large first bulbs and multiple leads. This is consistant throughout all of my plants with many needing to be potted on. Hopefully Bob will post some photos of his plants so that I can make a comparison and, no, my photo's haven't been photoshopped. What you see is what you get.”
