My Questions, let’s go fannish history because I’m nosy.
1. What was your first fandom?
Harry Potter, the classic... First read it in Year 1/2 and been happily obsessed ever since!
2. Have you ever written fanfic?
Yes. Badly. The fact that our unfinished parody Twilight fanfic (go on, read it, you know you want to...) got more reviews than most of my fics put together is an indicator...
3. Favourite Character from anything ever?
Ever?! You know I can't do decisions! Haha. But I think it would have to be Hermione Granger, probably linked with the fact that Harry Potter is my first fandom and Ron/Hermione is my OTP. Also, in my opinon, she's a fantastic and believable character who can be considered a great role model for little girls who'd rather read than make up dance routines.
4. Conversely, least favourite character?
Ooh, difficult. Probably Bella Swan, or the anti-Hermione. Showing teenage girls that you can't be happy unless you're permanently young and have a boyfriend, great one Stephenie Meyer. Because having your boyfriend spy on you while you sleep before you even know each other is obviously the basis for a strong and healthy relationship.
5. What do you love and wish more people knew about?
Eva Ibbotson's historical romances for young adults. All slightly predictable but easily my favourite books from the Post-Potter years, with wonderful characters and descriptions which have basically made me fall in love with Vienna, a city I have never visited, I should add...
6.Conversely is there a popular fandom, which you just don’t get or aren’t interested in?
Supernatural, which I feel like I've watched thanks to tumblr. Also Dr. Who...possible blasphemy here but I find it enjoyable enough to watch, it just never really hooks me and I'm not sure how keen I am on Clara or 11. With both of these I think a big part is the fact that they are EVERYWHERE on tumblr despite me not watching them, so feels like I'm forced into being a fan.
7. Once you take away the story and characters what’s your favourite fictional world?
Probably the Harry Potter universe- in my opinion it's so wonderfully fleshed out that despite it being (almost) entirely implausible I can totally picture myself there. Plus with a focus on Scotland and London, how could I not love it?!
8. Have you ever been disappointed by the plot resolution or character development of something you loved and why?
Yes, twice. *sob*. Maximum Ride managed to turn into what I would consider a bit crap if I found it on ff.net, let alone in a published book. What started off as a slightly cheesy but fun adventure story for teenagers turned into a fluff-fest where the overlying message that global warming is bad. Cheers for that, Patterson...
Also I found that I enjoyed each book in the Hunger Games series less; the first, whilst horrific and depressing in places, ended with potential to be positive when in fact Gale went OOC in book three and pretty much everything got destroyed. I felt a bit cheated that so little was resolved at the end, while there was a happy ending for me it wasn't a satisfying one.
9. Have you ever been attracted to a character? Who?
Too many to count XD. In the Harry Potter world alone we have Ron Weasley, Oliver Wood, Charlie Weasley, the Weasley twins (spotted a theme?) and Dean Thomas... *swoon*
10. Is there a particular genre you feel particularly drawn to?
I'm not sure actually. But I tend to avoid dystopian teenage books, and anything that looks like it might make me cry- if I'm reading/listening to/watching something I want to be entertained, not depressed.
11. Are there any non-fictional areas you response to in a similar way to media fandom, such as say, periods of history?
Beatlemania! Also I like imagining London through the ages, I've written a few stories set in Victorian London in the past for no other reason than it seems like a really interesting period.
Thanks, Tania! Now for my questions, I suppose.
1) If you could have the wardrobe of any fictional character, who would it be?
2) What are your opinions on politics? Not necessarily political views, but whether we're taught enough about it in school, or something along those lines.
3) Describe the view from the nearest window to you.
4) Which fictional character do you feel you identify most with?
5) Which period of time fanscinates you the most? Why?
6) Conversely, is there a time period you just don't really find that interesting?
7) When you were little, what did you want to be when you grow up?
8) Name something you like about yourself :-) (If you don't, I'll do it for you :P)
9) If you could have one "superpower", what would it be?
10) What is your favourite cake? Important question, this one.
11) Name a sport or activity you'd like to try.
Ok so I don't have 11 people to tag. Will see how far we get. Cyndare, survivingrealitywithoutnormality, justme2602, bambisaur, foreveraflautist, mitsuki2...yeah that's not 11. Alas.
This is Cyndare's doing

1. What is your favourite season?
Autumn- not too cold but cold enough to break out the scarves and drink hot chocolate and reaaad
2. Do you prefer films or theatre?
Depends. For some things, such as musicals or Agatha Christie mysteries I’d say theatre because the atmosphere and live-ness of it all is incredible. But then films are A LOT more accessible (and affordable)…not to mention a stage version of, say, Hot Fuzz would be ambitious at best.
3. Do you have a food you can’t live without?
Maybe orange juice? Is that a food? If not then I think I could live without most foods
4. What would be the first thing you’d grab if disaster struck and you could only take one thing?
Ummm….depends on the disaster? Probably a person so I’d have someone to talk to XD
5. Do you have a zombie apocalypse plan? I’m curious.
Go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over…
6. Do you have a favourite historical figure? Modern and still-living people count.
I have a few favourites- Mozart, Churchill, Agatha Christie (is she historical?), George Harrison, Alan Turing…sure I’ll remember more by the time I finish this. Sorry, not the concise answer you were hoping for!
7. Man this is taking ages. If you could have any motorised vehicle in the world, what would you have?
This car. Nuff said.
8. Apples or Oranges?
Apples are less of a faff, but oranges seem like a treat. So both :P
9. Have you been abroad? If so, what was your favourite destination and if not where would you like to go?
Yep :D Ooh difficult…Cologne or Florence or Paris (as close as I’m going to get to a single answer!). Was tempted to answer Edinburgh but who knows if Scotland counts as abroad.
10. Ever travelled internationally on your own?
Once and I cried my eyes out on the plane. And then on the way back I was doing my best to be a cool, international traveller but kept getting the giggles because of the book I was reading. So it went well…
11. Are you passionate about something? I don’t care if it’s food, fandom, flowers or whatever, tell us about it!
Would you like a list? :P Easiest answer would be music, both listening and playing. Reading and writing come pretty close and without sounding toooo soppy it’s safe to say I’m pretty passionate about my boyfriend…
So now it's my go? This could be interesting. Not sure which is more ambitious, thinking up 11 questions or finding 11 people to tag. Still, if I take into account my housemate's second blog that should help (sorry Tania :P)
1) First fandom? What do you think of it now?
2) If you could travel anywhere in Europe right now, where would you go?
3) And how about the rest of the World? (Ha. Two questions from one. Only 8 to go...)
4) Would you rather have tin foil teeth or tin foil fingers?
5) Least favourite type of music?
6) Can you play a musical instrument? If no, which instrument would you like to play?
7) What did you want to grow up to be when you were little?
8) Would you rather have zebra legs or a giraffe neck?
9) (ooh nearly there!) Where is your favourite place in the UK?
10) If you could be any nationality apart from your own, which would you choose?
11) Post a link to your favourite fanfiction or fanart
