Before I say anything else: Go here! Go, and read @thisgirlhastales‘ series “Trouble’s making everything all right”. Warning: klance
Czanliu is Brisha's twin brother (He will play the older twin card if he thinks it will gain him points). He might be more guarded than Brisha, but kindness runs in the family. Once you've made friends with him, he will keep you safe to the best of his ability. Also, you'll have his blessing to call him Zan.
Czanliu works at Denna's Lair - a brothel, but also a safe haven for those who need protection in Hutton. Zan, like everyone at Denna's, is there willingly. He's skilled and loyal to his employer, which has earned him the status of a First Lieutenant - one of Denna's most trusted, and Hutton's respected people.
His work duties include so much more than what would normally be required from someone working at a brothel. He's not a stranger to killing and seems to double as one of the peacekeepers at Denna's Lair, filling the position of Denna's personal bodyguard on occasion. Even though taking care of his looks is a requirement for his job he really enjoys it. His hair always styled and his face at it's sparkly best, opposite to his sister Zan would not be caught dead in ugly/dirty clothes. Which might be for the best when he suddenly becomes unable to form real sentences at the sight of someone really good-looking. I also bet he has an enormous collection of eyeshadows for every occasion.
I wanted to draw him in his outfit from the third chapter of Short Change Heroes, because that's when he was dressed to impress and canonically wore leather, freaking, pants. Yes. I went through three options of the tunic, finally settling on this assymetrical, velvety looking one with what's supposed to be embroidery on the edges. His earring and clasps on the tunic are silver to match his eye-color. If you squint you will also see that there is a concealed dagger peeking from under his tunic. I thought it would be fitting to give him a hairstyle that would actually require everyday styling and would most likely get all poofy and wild if left without any hair-product.
Here. Have a more natural make-up headshot and twins together.
