i finished my three-phase 6th anniversary D&D party gift project this week after 3 straight weeks of work and i posted off the parcels so now i gotta wait TWO WEEKS for them to land but i’m so excited!! i cannot wait for everybody to get theirs oh man

i do have some photo posts in my drafts ready to go up of everything i did for it, so stay tuned for those if you’re curious about what i’ve been working on

I am going to compile this stuff into nice and comprehensible character sheets eventually, but for now I feel like I need to get them out there to start with. And maybe some of you like to see a little process stuff, yeah? And I drew the wrong hand over and over again for the longest time...

I had a rough attitude and pose in mind, based on a few stats and how I felt like playing her. She’s a pretty confident lil’ lady, high on charisma and generally nice (Chaotic Good). I mostly went through iterations of weight-placement - with a +0 Strength and +1 Dexterity, I went with stringy and lean over bulky. She’s supposed to be around 3ft tall, which is especially funny considering the other party members being Elves and a Half-Orc.

Slowly chipping away at this D&D project. I hope to expand this to include all our party members: character sheets, expression and pose breakdowns - the whole thing! And eventually move on to enviroments and scenes.

So far I’ve only been playing around with my own character, Luna. I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted her to look like, I included a few iterations I went through.

The goal for me is to turn this into some kind of mock-up visual development piece, which has already proven to be a great exercise already - gettin’ all those creative muscles firing away!

Invisible Stalkers are famous in D&D, but I think they are nothing more than totally invisible Air Elementals. Another monster in D&D I do really like is called the Astral Stalker (see picture above) and I actually think the Astral Stalker should be called Invisible Stalker in the future D&D monster manuals and take over the Invisible Stalkers role all together.

Invisible/Astral Stalkers are creatures from the Shadowfell (Plane of Shadow and Eternal Darkness) they have a strange aura around them at all times which makes them naturally invisible for all other creatures and most magic and even true seeing won’t help in revealing the creature. The only way to spot the creature is by killing it as the corpse can be clearly seen. The Invisible Stalker can also show itself if it wishes to, though it rarely likes to do so, though they love to haunt creatures they hunt with their true form from a far distance, coming closer with every encounter, and Invisible Stalkers love to stalk and hunt creatures for days to even months.

Invisible Stalkers are natural hunters, some even think they are the incarnation or embodiment of hunting and tracking, they really enjoy the hunt and always increase the size and power-level of the creatures they hunt. Heroes, Hydra’s, Dragons and even weaker Demon Lords aren’t safe from their hunting lists.

Invisible Stalkers make their lair in dark lairs within ruins and they love to collect gruesome trophies of their victims such as skulls, bones or even hearts which they enchant with a strange magic so they keep beating even after being removed from the creature they slain.

Invisible Stalkers fight mostly unfair because they can’t be seen by their victims during battle and they love to slash them apart with their humongous claws that can slash steel and iron with ease.

Some Stalkers act as mercenaries for stronger monsters, but their price is always high and there is no telling that these murderous hunters turn on their temporary masters after the hunt is done.

Otyugh have a long history in D&D, they always stayed true to their Akaname-like behavior, that of refusal and waste-eaters with disgusting appearances and almost mindless behavior.

My version of the Otyugh isn’t much different though I think they deserve some more interesting background story.

Otyugh’s like all other Aberrations are native to the Far Realm, and these waste-eating creatures thrive in many swamps and even in the most toxic places on that plane. Otyugh’s are immune to poison, diseases and plagues and can eat anything without becoming ill or dying, strangely the only thing they can’t eat are celestial creatures as those will make a Otyugh sick with holy shivers which will eventually slay a Otyugh, an Otyugh is intelligent enough to know they can’t eat celestials though and they only slay such creatures and dump their corpses somewhere else.

Otyughs themselves are living heaps of diseases and sickness, spreading the worst of them among prey that got away after being bitten or touched by their two tentacles, some escaped victims of the Otyugh has caused entire villages to die on plagues or pest.

Otyughs thrive in sewer-systems and refusal heaps on earth or also on other planes, though the Abyss seriously changes the Otyughs appearance, their flesh becomes green and it turns into a living hive for all types of hellish vermin that use its sick flesh as shelter to breed and worse, the pain these vermin cause to the oytugh makes it extremely hostile and grumpy to anything it spots. Abyssal Otyugh are known as Draudnu’s and when another creature looks at a Draudnu for too long they get sick feelings about monstrous worms or parasites that burrow through their flesh and which live inside them, in the worst cases the victims even cut out their own intestines to get rid of their imaginary parasites.

On Earth Otyughs are often imprisoned by Orcs, Goblins or other evil humanoid races to be used a living disposal system, unworthy slaves are sometimes sacrificed to the Otyugh but they are mostly fed with the Orc’s and Goblins filth, dead and the sick.

Otyugh tolerate all types of Green Slimes and Carrion Crawlers in their territories, but even such creatures aren’t always safe from their eternal hunger for filth. Black Puddings however hunt for Otyugh’s and are their main predators.

Today is Chromatic Dragon Day, I will cover all six of them, at least the six that are in my own project.

The last Chromatic Dragon on the list and the 6th one is the Yellow Dragon or Sand Dragon. Being at home in both earths and the Feywilds deserts the Yellow Dragon is by far the most beautiful of the Chromatic Dragons and also the one that is least evil of them all, they are still vain and selfish though, but they rather use other creatures for their sinister goals than to outright killing them without any reason like other Chromatics often do.

Yellow Dragons are a bright yellow at younger ages and turn towards a sun-like orange near ancient status. Ancient Yellow Dragons are known as Sun Wyrms and they gain lots of useful abilities as they can even turn their entire body into raw sun-like energy, becoming living light.

 A Yellow Dragons breathweapons are a cloud of swirling sand or a very bright fire that doesn’t burn but only blinds the victims so they can more easily be beaten by the dragons other magical abilities. Yellow Dragons can summon great rays of solar light from above upon their enemies that burn the victims to crisps. Sunlight empowers the Yellow Dragon and turns them almost invisible, very handy in the harsh deserts they call home. 

Living in the deserts the Yellow Dragons most often encounter the Behir, a horrid dragon abomination created by dragon-haters and slayers, though Yellow Dragons are much more powerful they are still often killed by the Behir as they possess many anti-dragon aura’s and abilities, because of this the Yellow Dragons is a rare sight and they were once even close to extinction. Yellow Dragons love the flesh of Tlincalli, Camels, Karkadann’s and other big desert creatures, they love a good fight before a meal so they often hunt for dangerous creatures.

Today is Chromatic Dragon Day, I will cover all six of them, at least the six that are in my own project.

I just love Purple Dragons, they are my favorite chromatic (well the real D&D kinda treats them badly and calls them wannabe-chromatics together with yellow, orange, brown and grey dragons) of all time, mostly because I love purple and I love their role in the underdark which is my ultimate favorite place in D&D.

Purple Dragons are after Red Dragons the strongest dragons, they have the strongest magic of all dragons. Their magic includes shadow, darkness, raw magic, shapeshifting (taking the shape of drow females) and mind control. Its breath weapon is a cone of mind-controlling gas or a cloud of confusion gas or illusion/hallucination gas. 

When they reach Ancient forms they are known as Shadow Wyrms and their breathweapon changes into a cone of pure darkness and living shadow. 

Purple Dragons are the most intelligent of the dragons and look very different than other chromatic dragons as their heads are shaped like arrows and their necks are long and thin, this helps them survive the underdark better, being able to catch prey from small caves and hiding places. Purple Dragons feed mostly on Duergar, Derro and other smaller underdark residents, though they also enjoy eating the flesh of Aboleths, Beholders and Mind Flayers, they ally themselves with drow so they rarely eat those. A Purple Dragon goes through a lot of colors, at younger and adult ages they are a deep purple, when becoming older they turn Indigo or Dark Blue, when they are finally ancient dragons their scales are almost pitch black, Ancient Purple Dragons often end up in the shadowfell or Plane of Shadow.
