“You’re kidding right? You’ve been alive for like...a long ass time and you’ve never been bowling? What have you been doing? Every time I ask you it’s always ‘no, I haven’t’ or ‘what is that?’” Dallon laughed, trying his best to mimic Benny’s voice and failing spectacularly. “We need to get you out and about, old man.”
Cultivating a friendship with the dock worker had been tedious, like trying to get flowers to grow from one of those seed packets, but Dallon was pretty sure he’d made a breakthrough a week prior when he’d spent the morning taking to Benny about maintenance work and how the hell boats were actually constructed. He’d ended up with three pages of diagrams and more than three sentences of back and forth at a time, both of which he considered overwhelming successes.
