Ares: our characters get into a fight.
Characters: Caleb Emerson & Brandon Harris
Premise: Caleb and Brandon get into an argument over Caleb’s past
Setting: Caleb’s apartment, a few months from now
Caleb and Brandon stood there, facing each other. The older man’s eyebrows were drawn together in frustration, while the younger was just outright glaring at him. “What’s the big secret, Caleb? What is so important about your past that you have to keep it from me?” This has been an ongoing thing between the two of them for the last three months. At first Brandon understood why he didn’t want to let him in. People’s pasts could be difficult to handle, and he probably didn’t want to think about it. But after a few months of seeing each other, Brandon had aired out all of secrets. He’d told Caleb everything, and Caleb refused to return the favor. It had hurt the younger boy at first, but he was past hurt now. He was pissed off.
"I told you everything, everything, about me, and you can’t even tell me your parents’ names? Or what you liked to do as a kid? Were you closer to your mom or your dad? Something. Anything. I just.. I just want to know more about you, and you’re not giving me anything to work with! All I know is that you’re from South Carolina and what the weather’s like there, which newsflash, doesn’t really matter to me, because at the rate we’re going, I’m never going to end up going there anyway.”
During his mini rant, Caleb had stayed silent, staring at him with a blank expression until Brandon finished talking. “Are ya done now? Can I talk?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at him. The warlock didn’t speak, so he took that as his turn to speak. “Listen, Brandon. I don’t tell ya everythin’ because ya don’t need to know everythin’. Somethin’s are just too private to share with other people.” He said calmly. Any other time, Caleb’s smooth, southern drawl would put Brandon at ease, but not this time. It just made him even more upset. “Fuck, you’re so.. Ugh.” He couldn’t get the words out, his frustration making his brain run on overload. A light bulb across the room flickered slightly when Brandon clenched his fist, but this didn’t go unnoticed by Caleb.
"Dammit it, Brandon! Ya need to watch yerself, okay? I don’t need ya breathing down my neck and throwing hissy fits whenever ya don’t get yer way. Stop acting like such a fuckin’ brat and act like the goddamn eighteen year old that ya are." The wolf snapped at him, making the younger boy look at him in shock. He had never really snapped at him before, and it had caught him off guard. Shock turned into him being upset, before he became pissed off again. "Whatever." He snatched his car keys off the coffee table and headed towards the front door. "Call me when you’re actually ready to grow a pair and let me in." Brandon said as his hand gripped the doorknob.
"How about ya call me when ya realize the world doesn’t revolve around ya." Was Caleb’s response, before Brandon walked out, slamming the apartment door behind him.
