Though she was, by Midgardian standards, a goddess, Valkyrie was not blessed with an abundance of funds. She’d come to the planet with next to nothing and unlike the last planet she’d resided on, physical might alone couldn’t pay the rent. Luckily, Valkyrie had found a means of making money that was both enjoyable and lucrative. It introduced her to a good many people, both enemies and friends, and of all of them, Jessica Drew was among her favorites. She’d proven a worthy opponent in the ring, and a decent confidant outside of it. Valkyrie hadn’t yet gone into detail regarding her past, but Drew never asked.
She also didn’t seem to mind watching Valkyrie drink her weight in liquor, a quality the goddess actively looked for in her friends. Drew always seemed willing to accept Valkyrie’s invitation to city’s bars, even if her favorites were never very nice bars. The one they sat at tonight was grimy and dark and run down, and Valkyrie loved it. She and Jessica had been having a fairly decent conversation when a fight broke out in the corner, causing an excited gleam to flash in Valkyrie’s eye. “I was hoping something like this might happen,” she informed her friend, downing the rest of her drink and getting to her feet. “Will you be joining me?”
