By the new One D&D rules Divine Smite is now an actual spell.... so you can counter spell it.
Kinda feels like a dick move akin to sniping a healing word but I'm half way tempted to anyway.

Any other DMs struggling rn because they have this EPIC set of endgame scenarios for their dnd game... but the party only just hit level 5?
I'm out here planning a crescendo to what could be a several year long game, with apocalyptic doomsday machines, trapped world killing primordials, and a vampire necromancer queen from the Shadowfell, but my party just finished climbing down a crevasse to fish an early game bounty out of a preapocalypse supermarket.
It's not the first dragon I've dungeoned, but I still just can't wait for the big stuff!
Welcome to The Expanse
The main playable region in my current Homebrew setting.
The theme of Prodos as a world is kind of... Cataclysm. The world has seen a series of interconnected apocalypses (apocalypti???), the latest of which caused the world's largest ocean to vanish.
In its wake, we have the Expanse. A super continent sized dried up seabed filled with all kinds of ruins from civilizations destroy when the ocean disappeared, to ones buried long before it, as well as strange semi aquatic flora and fauna, and biomes that have no right place being found on the sea floor.
The whole setting is kind of a Magi-techincal gold rush through the ruins and regions of this new frontier, I've been working on it for the better part of a year and a half now and playing a game in it now for a few months.
I'm real excited about the whole world and keep building as I'm going so I'll be dumping all kinds of thoughts here as I go.
