Monster Idea: A half-dragon Gorgon.
The iron bull has striated bands of white scales, and metal wings emerge from its sharp ridged back. Its breath combines the standard petrifying gas with a magical icy blast!
If you aren’t turned to stone, the cold breath will harm you right away. If you are petrified, the chill remains in your stony form - as soon as you get restored to your normal state, you take damage from the breath weapon. This can be avoided by heating up your petrified companion to a healthy temperature before you cast Stone to Flesh.
