Today 75 years ago Canadian, Brittish an American men invaded the beach in Normandy and started to free Europe from the nazi's.
The Ghost of You video portrays this beautifully and shows how this acually happend. Scared but brave men fought for their life and our freedom.
D'Day June 6, 1944
Although the first four gifs are from the movie Saving Private Ryan, they depict a huge invasion that took place by allied forces during WWII. Code-named Operation Overlord, it was to be the largest air, land, and sea operation to ever be undertaken in history. The landing included 5,000 ships, 11,000 airplanes, and over 150,000 allied troops (most of which were under the age of 20).
U.S. forces were assigned to land on Utah and Omaha beaches, the British forces were assigned to Gold and Sword and Canadian forces at Juno. When it was all over, the Allied forces had suffered nearly 10,000 casualties and over 4,000 dead
