Some lovely smaller bands I enjoy.
Okay these are some smaller bands who deserve more love and appreciation. I’ll first quote the name than the genre and tree songs to check and than an extra note.
Weathers. Alternative indie rock. Some songs: “1983″, “happy pills” and “I’m not OK”. I LOVE IT. Album comes june 22th.
I don’t know how but they found me. Alternative, indie and maybe a bit emo. Go check “choke”, “modern day Cain” and “mr. sinister” (only in live versions). A two man band with old panic! bassist Dallon Weekes and old falling in reverse drummer Ryan seaman. Only have tree songs, but the album will come soon (well i hope it does) and they played other songs live.
Kensington. Mainly rock with a kinda indie/british sound. Tree good songs to start with are: “streets”, “control” and “we are the young”. At first everything may sound the same, but it definitely doesn’t.
Cigarettes after sex (weird name i know). Dream pop, slow core (according to wikipedia). Listen to “K”, “sunsetz” and “truly”. Great to sleep with or while doing homework.
Chef’special. Pop rock funk rap ish ness. “Because I love you”, “In your arms” and “into the future”. They have so many different songs there must be something you like. Also the toured with Twenty One Pilots.
De Staat (the name is dutch so is the band, but the songs are english). Alternative rock. “witch doctor”(is really nice live), “Make the call, leave it all” and “Blues is dead”. May sound weird, but I like it.
Yasmine. They said themselves: “Poppy songs played way to hard, hurts you’re ears and get stuck for months”. “chocolate fingers”, “tiny bubbles” and “smother me with your honey, honey”. I don’t know if they still exist, they have four songs.
The brobecks. Alternative indie rock with a touch of emo. “goodnight socialite” “love at fist sight” “Bike ride” (best live). Same singer/bassist as idkhbtfm. also the band is dead since 2013 or something like that.
Kenneth Harris (not a band). Indierock. “go west young man (predator)”, “fame” and “one night only”. Panic!’s tour guitarist’s solo project.
Simple plan. pop-punk-rock. “perfect” “astronaut” and “i’d do anything”. takes you back in time.
The young veins. they’re just the beatles but with ryan ross. “Change”, “dangerous blues” and “cape town”. RYAN ROSS. the band doesn’t exist anymore.
Calpurnia. alternative indie. “city boy”, “louie” and “grey hound”. With Finn Wolfhard from stranger things. I haven’t seen the serie, but the music is nice. first EP comes june 15th.
