9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Just roomates? *laughs nervously*
I think outside of his nightmares--which may cause him to cry out in the night--Cullen would be an easy and even great roommate for somebody like me.
The few downsides would be that he'd be up all hours of the night, and his own room would be an utter disaster which would drive me crazy, and if I went away, he'd let my plants die (in this hypothetical scenario where I can keep houseplants alive) because he'd forget to water them except for right before I came back, lol.
Upsides, he'd pay his share on time and do his share of caring for the main space without having to be asked. He'd take turns cooking as well, though it'd be simple stuff at first. He'd want to learn more and would cook with me (I love to cook and am fairly decent at it) which would lead to singing sessions in the kitchen--he'd be awkward about it at first and then slowly start belting his lungs out "The Dawn Will Come" style the more comfortable he gets.
So far as quality time, he'd be fine with comfortable silence when we're at the apartment at the same time as well as living our own lives even when under the same roof. I think we'd have very similar taste in movies and music, so we wouldn't clash there and would enjoy a movie night together now and again with the mabari stretched out between us. I'd play chess with him and slowly get better, but never enough to beat him (unless he let me win). We'd be curious about a lot of each other's hobbies but may or may not participate in all of them. I'd see a lot of evenings of sitting together quietly reading or chatting/catching up over a game of chess.
There's no way it would happen if I had that living in the room next to me but hypothetically speaking if I were ever to have a guy over for a date night in or if a guy was dropping me off after a date (because I was desperately trying to move on), I know Cullen would keep me safe. I would never have to worry about any outside threat between him and his mabari. If I went out on a date, he'd check in if I asked him to and would definitely come and get me if I asked--without question and he'd drop whatever he was doing to do it or if he absolutely couldn't, would send someone he trusted in his stead. The guy may or may not make it out unscathed depending on what kind of state I was in (Meaning if I were visibly upset, not...other things. Other things would lead to me having to bail Cullen out of jail—and probably Branson, Rylen and Delrin as well). I wouldn't have to worry about Cullen (obviously) either because he's a good man and a gentleman. If he was seeing someone, he'd go to her place if they wanted a more private venue instead of kicking me out (unless I was gone).
I could also see him being a great motivator and listener. He'd challenge me to aim bigger and help me reach my goals. He'd be a great workout partner because he'd take no excuses and hold me accountable. He'd teach me things if I asked. He'd ask me to keep him accountable with AA (an AU lyrium equivalent) meetings. We'd probably drive together on Sunday mornings but go to separate churches as he'd be Catholic while I'm Protestant. This would lead to religious debates, but they'd be friendly and constructive, probably leading to us going to each other's churches at least once.
We'd have a great friendship while maintaining fairly private lives.
I'd also fall in love with him, and he'd (most likely) break my heart without meaning to.
What I really want to know is how this scenario came about 🤣
My guess would be that I'm friends with Mia or Rosalie and moved in with them to room with his sister(s) and help make the cost lower by splitting it up more...
