Bittersweet Summers | Flashback

The summer was finally coming to a close, encroaching on her fourth year at Hogwarts. Narcissa always preferred the freedom of Hogwarts to her life of expectations back at home. Druella was such a bore, and always Narcissa stayed close. Plus, being at home meant the return of etiquette lessons. As much as Narcissa valued their teachings, she’d much rather be outside with her sisters, running around town and just being young. Today is a day off though, which means she’s got free reign to do whatever she’d like. Not only that, but Andy’s coming around. They’re supposed to have a sisters day, but Bella’s been off doing Merlin knows what, so it’ll just be the two of them.
Narcissa’s excited. Narcissa loves spending time with her older sister, would worship the ground she walked on if she was a little less dignified. She’s reading in the sitting room when she hears Andy enter through the front door. Narcissa snaps her book closed after marking her place. “Andy?” She heads towards the front entryway, book in hand. She smiles brightly, delighted to see her sister. “Ready to go? Bella’s not coming -- says she’s got more important things to do.” Narcissa says it with a scoff in her voice. What could be more important than spending time with family?
