It's not like it's out of the norm by now, for him to end up with that Lucy kid being the one greeting him when he brings his extras by the commune. He's never done business with them- hell, he's never even heard her speak a single word, after all- But there's something not unlike pity in him for her. The commune kept to itself- but he knew enough, that they'd been mute for quite some time, two whole years before he arrived and several more after. And while he had little pity for the Priest, who had made themselves a proper fixture in town rather quickly after his trauma- even Duck's hardened heartstrings were softer for Lucy. "Mornin, Lu." Comes the greeting. "Got some catches we don't need up in town from the traps, figured I'd bring them by like usual. Sunflower around?" And then- as has become his usual, he glances around conspiratorially, reaching into the bag slung over his shoulder and passing them an apple, putting a finger to his lips to insist she keep the fact she has it at all quiet.
"You keepin' out of trouble?" He knows the answer will likely be rather short- to get one at all is a feat with this one- But it's small talk to distract at the very least from the quarry of dead rabbits slung over his shoulder.
