"HI MR. COWBOY DADDY NEEDS BULLETS." Duck groans, barely missing grabbing Robin by the back of the shirt as the boy bolts away from him. "I'm so fast."
"Whatever helps ya sleep at night, kid." Duck shakes his head, turning to Rance with a sigh. "Mornin', Rance." He greets, good natured but tired, as he always is, with Robin under his watchful eye. "Was hoping to make this a quiet trip to the outdoors shop- but the kid is correct. Wouldn't happen to have stocked some buckshot recently, would ya? I'm runnin' low on the supply back at the station, and usually I'd let it hang, we're outta season fer most of the stuff that needs rounds that big but- Well, Ranger Craven couldn't hit th' broadside of a barn with his rifle these days. Better t' have the option." He reasons. "How you been, man? Any excitin' developments?" He questions, his grip on Robin's shirt relenting as the boy wanders off to examine the scant offering of crossbow scopes. "Don't. touch or ask for nothin'. I done told you, yer 'anything stronger than a slingshot' privileges are revoked, Uncle Hawk just dug an arrowhead outta dad's ass recently because somebody was playin' fast and loose with his crossbow."
"It wasn't your ass, daddy."
"it was close enough that I ain't even gonna yell at you for sayin' ass. Now behave."
