Anyone else notice that Dracula punched Trevor in the nuts? Apparently it was a bar fight.
Also I'm not sure there was any way to access Alucard's room other than breaking through that stone wall. It's almost like he had it bricked up after Lisa died or something.
Actually I just realized something. Maybe it's intentional that Carmilla has no charisma, little power of persuasion, and in general little of anything beyond resources and the luck to stumble into a low-risk, high-reward situation with no meaningful opposition.
Carmilla is a capricious maniac who resorts to violence (mainly sucker punches or against defenseless foes) as soon as she doesn't get her way. She kicks Godbrand down a flight of stairs when he ignores and spurns her. She beats the ever-loving shit out of Hector as soon as the opportunity presents itself to reassert her dominance over him (and once he's outnumbered and defenseless). She quite enthusiastically professes her hatred of men, but she has such utter contempt for women that she never even considers that the women on the war council might pose a threat to her plan. (It's like she doesn't even acknowledge that women exist, and her master plan explicitly relied on two men.)
Dracula throws a massive tantrum because his wife was murdered. Carmilla throws countless tantrums because she doesn't immediately get her way.
I kinda love that. I always love a refined and charismatic villain that, deep down, is just a crass, beligerant roughneck. I just wish Carmilla's "mask" was a bit more appealing.
Or the writers just fucked up. I mean, they kinda squandered Godbrand and Hector, so . . . yeah.

I love Castlevania season 2, but is Carmilla really this seductive tactical genius?
Who was going to oppose her? The suicidally depressed blood-starved vampire throwing the world’s biggest tantrum over the death of his wife? The derpy viking that wanted to ride her like a boat? The adorkable manchild that collected zombie pugs? The badass automaton that would probably kill himself if Dracula asked nicely? The War Counsel of Such Plot-Importance and Effectiveness That I Can’t Remember Any of Their Names? That might’ve been the point, but a great tactician needs great (or at least conscious and competent) foes to overcome.
Also I feel like the show's mild same face syndrome and/or fear of ugliness among its non-elderly female characters kinda hurt the whole "alluring femme fatale" thing. I mean, when even the shit-caked peasant nomad that had to lop off most of her hair with a rusty dagger or something looks like a model and that shit-and-viscera caked peasant merchant in a demon-ravaged village who had one line in season 1 does as well . . . I dunno.
At least she wasn't some nude-but-for-a-mask screaming lady riding a giant skull . . . well, the skull would've been cool.
Current mood: well yeah I'm pretty sure my 150+ year old neighbor is a necromancer and it's been all but confirmed that he imports mummies, apparently kidnaps and tortures people from around the world for information in a secret basement in his house, and uses his copy of the necronomicon to perform blasphemous rituals to obtain ancient secrets about the townsfolk's ancestors that he'd have no other way of knowing . . . but maybe he's just a madman that entertains himself by carrying on angry conversations with himself at night in different voices, you know?
My oh my, but how insecure Carmilla's fandom is! How quickly they abandon their goddess as soon as someone points out her ableism, hipocrisy, immaturity, ineffectiveness, internalized misogyny, racism, etc.
Look, like whatever characters you want, but if your knee-jerk reaction to someone pointing out their flaws is to yelp "they're not a radfem!" maybe your taste in characters just sucks.
You know what I really fucking hate? People who "forget" that Nana Shimura is ripped. Because she is. Even without One for All she's jacked. She's not Lawful Good Midnight but With Shorter Hair and Slightly Smaller Tits; she's Good Ol' Swole Smilin' Shimura.
