Silence made David nervous for many reasons, the biggest one being that it meant that something could be wrong. He needed noise, even something quiet, otherwise things just didn't feel right. There was no noise coming from behind the door, the only sound was the slight squeaking the door knob made as he twisted it open. His eyes immediately fell upon Amber curled up on the couch and, for a brief moment, he felt better. He stepped through the threshold and closed the door behind him. It was still unnervingly quiet as his eyes stayed trained on his wife, trying to figure out if she was okay. That wasn't working too well.
Walking over to where she was on the couch, David placed his hand gently on her shoulder before sitting down beside her. "Honey, are you alright?" His brows knitted together, concern very evident on his features. "Is something wrong?"
